Give me ideas of what to do in Japan in August - Because you some of you guys are weebs and might know.

Really depends on where you travel. If you want to travel a lot, buy a Japan Rail pass. It's expensive, but you can use it on every JR line (including some Shinkansen). The 1 Week pass is pretty much worth its money when you use the Shinkansen twice.
If you are in Kansai, visit Nara, Osaka and Kyoto.
In Nara, you want to see the Todaiji, the Kasuga Jinja and the sacred deers.
You can buy cookies for the deer, but make sure the fuckers don't see you doing it or otherwise they bully you until you drop the cookies. Hide them a little and don't let the deer scare you - stay calm and if they get obnoxious, just walk away. Do NOT bother fawns, the parents will kick your ass. Here's a neat thing to do: Lift a cookie in front of you, the deer will make a bow after a short moment.
In Kyoto, you want to see Nijo Castle, Kiyomizudera, the Kinkakuji, the Higashi Honganji (close to the Trainstation btw).
Uji is not far away, the Byodo-In is a pretty awesome sight. Also the Fushimi Inari.
In Osaka, you want to visit Umeda and the castle. A ride in the HEP five Ferries Wheel after dusk is pretty rad.
Himeji castle is a must see.

Kanazawa is somewhat of a hot tip, it's not nearly as overrun by tourists like (say) Kyoto and Tokyo. And it just takes like 2.5h to get there by Shinkansen from Tokyo or by express train from Kyoto (both covered by the JR pass btw). In Kanazawa, you can visit the Kenroku-En, the remains of the castle and many other neat places.

From Tokyo, you can also go to Kamakura which is basically a city cobbled together out of beautiful temples and amazing sights. Hasedera, Kotoku-In are very cool. Enoshima is a nice visit, too. When the weather allows it, you can see Fuji from there.

Hiroshima is far in the south, but worth a visit as well.

Also, as mentioned in another thread:
Go to Akihabara, leave the station through the "Electric Town Exit". Go left, once you leave the station, there should be a huge building with the word "Atré" behind you, head straight down (south) the road. Shortly before reaching the big road, on the right hand side, there's big green building with a small (green) entrance to a shop called "Pop Life Department M's".

Explore 7 floors of adult toys and insanity. In case you ever need Rirakkuma Condoms, that's the place to go.

In Osaka, I would recommend going on a ride in the HEP Five Ferries Wheel in Umeda at night. The View is amazing.
Also, eat Takoyaki in Osaka, they are amazing.

If you are really into castles you could also go check out Kumamoto Castle, and while down there you could check out the active volcano in Aso.
Kumamoto and the Aso are a bit far away, but really worth the travel. The Suizenji is one of Japan's most beautiful parks (Alongside Kenroku-En of Kanazawa, in fact).

The one thing I'd be sure to do is fugu
It really is just the thrill of eating something potentially lethal, the taste is ... rather dull. But certainly something worth doing just for the novelty.

Summer is probably the best season to travel to Asia if your mission is some poontang. College girls are out, girls are dressin' less, checking out the fellas to tell them who's best.

For Tokyo, don't bother with the Meiji Shrine because the associated museums are under renovations for the upcoming 2020 Summer Olympics, or Sensō-ji Temple because it's a tourist trap. Many shrines and temples in Tokyo survived World War II and are near the major usual attractions. For example, the Nezu, Kanda Myojin, Shinjuku Juniso Kumano, Shibuya Konno Hachimangu, and Ushijima Shrines. Of course, you can't forget the Yasukuni Shrine! For temples, Sengaku-ji, Tōzen-ji, Zenkō-ji, are beautiful. Gōtoku-ji, Ikegami Honmon-ji, and Jōshinji are amazing, but somewhat out in the suburbs.

If you want to see ground zero for an atomic bomb, choose Nagasaki because Hiroshima is a somewhat boring city. Nagasaki is charming and has the port city feel of Yokohama and Kobe. While further away, cities like Fukuoka and Kagoshima are closer.

I thought Japanese women weren't into gaijin. Isn't it like a huge no-no to fuck a foreigner?

Perhaps take a visit to Osaka as well and check out Osaka Castle.

If you're visiting Osaka, the castle is worth a stop. Kumamoto isn't worth because all the construction with seismic reinforcement after the 2016 earthquake. Himeji Castle is usually considered one of Japan's best castles, but it's full of tourists. If you're in Tokyo for most the time, Matsumoto Castle is a better bet.

Buy all the bootlegs you can.
Wrong country, unless your at a shady shop run by a Zainichi Korean in Shin-Ōkubo.

Visit that one place in Tokyo where all the Yakuza games take place.
Kabukichō, Shinjuku east of the station and south of Shin-Okubo that I mentioned. LOL, to the southeast between it and Downtown Shinjuku and Meiji Street bypass, and north of Gyo-en is the largest concentration of gay bars in the world.

Either they ain't into anybody, or the gaijin they don't fuck are as unfuckable as Japanese men, AKA weeaboos who have unrealistic expectations they're as easy to get as characters in a dating sim.

Ah, the universal lube for sexy time. Very nice, how much?
About as much as any hot women anywhere, except shit in Japan can be incredibly expensive.

I went in August a few years back; it flips between sweltering heat, and torrential downpour, so a light rain coat would be handy at all times. There's a huge fireworks festival that month you wouldn't want to miss. If you go to Kyoto, the cicadas are deafening. You literally have to tell to converse with someone right next to you at times.

I'm not a huge weeb, but I did spend a lot of time in Akihabara. Do a maid cafe. It's awkward and cringy as fuck, but it's a very unique experience that you will get good stories from. Same with an open bath house. The bath house is also a little awkward (oddly not as bad as the maid cafe) and is actually kind of cool/relaxing once you post up.

Stay at a hostel if you haven't already made plans. Not only cheaper than a hotel, but you meet other cool travelers.

"Marriotu hoteru wa doko deska?" Is how you ask where the nearest Marriott hotel is. If you get lost, the Marriott always has someone near the front desk who speaks english, and a lot of the times they will let you use the business center to get your bearings or reach out for help.

Honestly, skip Mt. Fuji. You have to get there at like 4:00am to get the whole hike done at a reasonable time, and it's not even because the hike is so long. Its barely a hike, it's just an uphill line of thousands of other tourists.

Edit: using your most stereotypical/racist Japanese accent if you have to speak to a local in english; it actually really helps get your point across.

Maybe not all Japanese women are into gaijin, but a sizable number will make it very easy for a White guy to get laid, especially women over 25, or girls that are not the paradigm of attractiveness to Japanese guys, but are "hawt AZN chikz" to us foreigners.

Black guys are going to have a pretty difficult time overall in Japan, but there used to be a hip-hop fad that made it easier for Black guys willing to play a stereotype to get some trim.

I remember hearing about that fad in the early 2000's. My sister had a Japanese roommate who was pretty hot but clueless that cheerleading is not actual dancing and apparently by the end of the semester, she was wearing really slutty clothes. She showed us a family picture and her mom and dad were dressed real formal as was she but her brother was all wiggered out.
