Now, some fans of the Oscar-winning animated film have created the viral hashtag #GiveElsaAGirlfriend to urge the sequel's writers to make Elsa Disney's first lesbian princess.

The trend started with a teenage girl named Alexis Isabel Moncada, who tweeted on April 30: "I hope Disney makes Elsa a lesbian princess imagine how iconic that would be." She added, "Dear @Disney, #GiveElsaAGirlfriend."

Most of these people are way too old to keep caring about Disney cartoons.

Or: what if SJWs adopted Enterism.

I would bet dollars to doughnuts that some of the people tweeting this or championing this were the same ones that when it came out were complaining about 'false feminism' or whatever. Why can't they just like be happy Elsa is an independent princess who don't need no man? I mean everyone was pretty happy about Brave's Merida ending the movie without finding a beau.

I wonder if these people are the same ones who are all so obsessed with shipping Elsanna/Elsa and her sister Anna together because "muh underrepresented femslash"

...or are they separate groups entirely? Because if so, the two of them clashing would be a hilarious meltdown to watch.

I fully support this, give Elsa a girlfriend. But don't just stop there, break ALL gender norms at once: Give Elsa a male-passing, male-acting, butch, bearded pre-op trans-woman for a girlfriend :epik:

The answer is always autism.

You're not wrong.

They're separate.

I don't think people ship Elsa and Anna together because of feminism. It's because they like the paring and they think incest is hot. The feminist types who want Elsa to get a gf are against incest.

You'd be surprised. There's plenty of the typical "girl-on-girl and incest is hot" crowd but I have legitimately seen people claim that shipping femslash (incest or otherwise) is some form of feminist expression because in cases of it being made by women it means it's less objectifying or...fuck, I dunno, I can't begin to fathom their mental gymnastics.

Just say it gets your panties wet like a normal person and stop trying to justify your kinks with politics already.

I can't begin to fathom their mental gymnastics.

I don't think anyone can.

I don't support incest, but I won't demonize anyone for being into it. However, the fact that people are forcing their ideologies on the creators and going out of their way to ship cartoon characters who are related is pretty pathetic.

It's extremely pathetic because back in the day you could just say "I don't like this fictional relationship" and y'know, no one would give a shit except the really spergy types who take this kind of thing way too seriously.

Now everything has to have some kind of reason, usually tied to the hot button ideology of the moment. You don't like a ship between two guys or two girls? You're homophobic. You like a ship that's fucked up in some way? You're an abuse apologist. Nevermind the fact that the people involved are FICTIONAL and it doesn't matter anyway; no; you clearly condone it in real life.

That's true. I'll bet the people who support the Elsa gf thing will call anyone who doesn't support it homophobic.

You seem to know a lot about this stuff, so I'd like to invite you to join this thread. We discuss people exactly like the ones you described there.

No, I'm just perpetually puzzled by the depths of autism exhibited by the cartoon sperg demographic.

The tumblr cartoon crowd is basically the new generation's answer to Sonicfags. Except instead of anime-inspired fanfiction, terrible OCs, and AMVs it's headcanons, social justice hashtags, and moral superiority.

Breaking: Disney will continue ignoring the demands of the adult children obsessing over their products.

Yeah there's no way that Disney; a multibillion dollar industry; is going to risk pissing off some of their biggest consumers just to satisfy the desires of a small but especially obnoxiously vocal and often unpleasable minority. Even if Disney itself was open to the idea of a lesbian princess character, there's NO WAY that the major international market (China and Russia immediately come to mind as they have anti-homosexual portrayal laws dressed up as morality shit if I recall) or the Biblethumping set are. And when those consumers are against something, they won't buy merch or won't distribute the product in their regions, and then Disney loses money.

And at the end of the day, all that matters is money.

(Don't even get me started on the Marvel Cinematic spergs. Technically they're a Disney property now too.)

Let's suppose Disney caves and slaps a female love interest on to Elsa. Isn't that a bit forced? As far as I understand it, the majority of LGBT people want gay characters to be normalised; not some kind of exploitable gimmick to sell a product.
I'm going to guess that most of the people asking for Disney to create a gay princess are straight people who want to be 'oh so progressive' by forcing homosexuality into any medium they can with no regard to how representative they are.
Oh, and as a side note, forcing a love interest into the script isn't good for the overall quality of the film if it serves no purpose other than to satisfy these whining 'fans'.
