I can't wrap my head around why anyone thinks this is a good idea. I mean, not that princesses necessarily need love interests anyway, but why does it have to be some forced gay romance from a Twitter suggestion?

These same people are the ones who get pissy when a female Disney character falls in love because "omg why does she need a man?! why is she so weak and frail?? SEXISM!!".

I don't even give a fuck about any lesbian or non-lesbian Disney princesses because I'm not 6, but the double standard is a little baffling. Male love interests = the princess is weak, but female love interest= empowered princess?

Disney has also been doing role reversal for a long time- the male character is in need of saving and the female character takes the savior's position, rather than the other way around. If that's not empowering, then I don't know what is.

It's not empowering because they still manage to fuck up in some absurd way. They could debut Elsa's new lesbian black girlfriend tomorrow, and they'll bitch because she's too pretty, isn't Muslim, and is cis instead of trans.

I said this in Nookie Bear's thread, but I'll bring it here too.

Make Elsa's girlfriend Angela Merkel because she's a frosty lesbian too.

A racebent Angela Merkel with leprosy and vitiligo and a cock.

Eh. I really don't give a shit about a Disney princess's possible sexuality but I am slightly annoyed about how entitled some are being about this. Disney doesn't owe you anything. Nor should they have to bow down to fan requests. They most likely won't but some fans can get really obnoxious about "make X character Y" bullshit with other forms of media that don't have the stronghold of Disney. The artist's vision and intention should come first because it's their creation. Pandering, unless it's in very small doses, almost never turns out good.

I mean everyone was pretty happy about Brave's Merida ending the movie without finding a beau.

They're a bunch of people who insist that Merida is a lesbo though. Probably the same idiots who are adamant about making Elsa gay.

There's not gonna be any major studio putting out a children's movie with an obvious homosexual romance as long as the MPAA continues to rate movies with homosexual themes with Rs. Which is where these whiny faggots should actually be complaining to.

Why do people think Elsa is a lesbian? Is it because of that stupid song?
Is their a clit-rubbing onomatopoeia equivalent to *fapfapfapfapfap*?

If so, then that.

What's ironic is that if Disney actually gave in and made the movie, it would net them a lot of money. Thus confirming more godawful sequels in the future.

Do movies with implied romances get a lower rating?

This hashtag trend: People who don't have enough real problems to worry about.

That's not even going into how Elsa's learning to accept herself - powers included - again as well as repair her relationship with her sister after 13 years of isolation. Why force a romance?

Actually came here to point this out myself!

It's all fine and good if they make a gay Disney character. No problems here, at least from me. It's when these folks try to force it on characters no matter how little sense it makes. /writersperg

They're never gonna be happy anyway:
  1. Whine about lack of representation
  2. Get representation from writer
  3. Complain about representation until writer gives up
  4. Refer back to step 1

Yeah there's no way that Disney; a multibillion dollar industry; is going to risk pissing off some of their biggest consumers just to satisfy the desires of a small but especially obnoxiously vocal and often unpleasable minority. Even if Disney itself was open to the idea of a lesbian princess character, there's NO WAY that the major international market (China and Russia immediately come to mind as they have anti-homosexual portrayal laws dressed up as morality shit if I recall) or the Biblethumping set are. And when those consumers are against something, they won't buy merch or won't distribute the product in their regions, and then Disney loses money.

And at the end of the day, all that matters is money.

(Don't even get me started on the Marvel Cinematic spergs. Technically they're a Disney property now too.)

100% agree.

Disney is sometimes hard to guess with what they will do, but I'm pretty sure it's a safe bet that they will not be making Elsa a lesbian. There's too much at stake, even if they wanted to do that. Because I guarantee you if they do it, there WILL be parents boycotting the movie, and possibly ALL of Disney, because it's not really an appropriate subject to introduce to young children.

It's way too much money to risk, especially with the most successful princess movie they've had since "The Little Mermaid".

If these spergs want lesbianism in their Disney that badly, they should just go back to watching Once Upon a Time

What they don't get is while Disney is relatively LGBT friendly, having things like Disney Gay Days and all. Their main market is still children who can't buy movies or go see them on their own, and having a lesbian princess will cause pretty much all fundamentalist Christians and some other Christians, who are also a big audience, to not want their kid to see it. Basically it's the classic "ME ME MEMEME I DON'T CARE IF OTHER PEOPLE DON'T GET TO SEE IT I WANT YOU TO MAKE A MOVIE FOR MEEEEEEEE!" scenario.
