It isn't that bad. I finally took the plunge for the legal warchest. Just be careful. The non-traditional, shall we call it, exchange that was recommended by crypto thread rugpulled two weeks after I used it to buy my first coins. Thankfully I wasn't stupid enough to store any on the exchange.

All you need is a Bisq wallet and the latest USD-to-crypto service. Wallet backup codes are trivial to store, just print them out and throw them in your gun safe. If you're worried about privacy there's all kinds of mixers. The only problem I've ever had is the fees for this stuff do add up.

Very heartwarming how this site houses all sorts of political ideologies from all sides of the aisle, differing opinions, countries, people, all united in thinking trannies are pretty gross.

For real, I've had arguments with people in Thunderdome threads and then shared laughs with them the same day in the O&A thread or something. It really is a testament to this site's community that people can get along like this.

Anyway, Godspeed to the GSG fundraiser. 2025 is turning out to be a great year.
