Baby pigs always cheer me up.
I watched the latest season of Clarkson's Farm recently. It features the most adorable baby pigs in existence.

I'm going to spoil a bit here and say that the life of an animal farmer is filled with heartache. They lost 1/4 of their piglets the first time around and they were devastated.

So he had a brainwave that actually turned out to be a good idea. See sows are terrible mothers, and roll over on the piglets who snuggle up next to her along the wall of the shelter for body heat.

His idea was a ring around the outside wall of the igloos they shelter in wide enough to keep mom from rolling back to the wall. The builder of his pigloos thought it was a genius idea, patented it as Clarkson's ring and it saved the lives of a lot of next generation of piglets.

So anytime someone says these reality shows do nothing good for humanity tell them about Clarkson's ring.

If you have Amazon Prime I highly recommend the show. It really does a good job in educating the public about the (often gross and harsh) reality of farming and the struggles they deal with. Yeah, Clarkson's rich, but overall the English farmers love his show for the spotlight it shows on their profession.

Anyway to keep this more on topic have some photos I saved from Twitter and Facebook

This ceramic vase was in the glass recycling bin, so I rescued it.

That would be nice, just going out to your field and putting in a hard day's work then coming back like "Oh damn this was a really good harvest" and you've got so much corn/wheat/peas/etc that you don't even know what to do with it. Then you go into town and talk to everyone about your wicked harvest, give some to your wife and she cooks stuff for your neighbors and you all thank god or whichever pagan deity your community in the specific time period you live in worships.

No worries this winter, not with a harvest that good. Take some corn bread home with you. No it's fine, just take it. We have tons.
Our hens finally started laying eggs. They're singing their egg song loud as shit in the middle of the day, proud as, well, proud as a cock of what they've done. The eggs taste good, too, with rich orange yolks. You should come on over and take a couple home to fry up. Yea, man, they'll just make more. It's great.
