I'm honestly even more confused than I was by the original teaser. I guess I'll have to wait until the pilot to understand what the fuck this is supposed to be.
But seeing a theme park setting is not getting my hopes up for many reasons.
 
What if Disneyland was a Cyberpunk dystopia, a deconstruction of a beloved genre, an extremely original idea that was never done before.
I will cackle if is just like Captain Lazerhawk, but instead of licensed characters is just donut steels.
 
I was disappointed by the teaser and I'm only slightly less disappointed by the actual trailer. Animation looks good (for a 2D indie project, mind) despite low frame-rate. I enjoyed the lip-syncing. I don't like the indecision of doing anime style or western that so many artists do. Oh well.

It being an expression of frustration with Disney explains Guinevere's (assuming it's the purple-haired lady) awful hairstyle. I guess the design is meant to simulate Mickey mouse ears.

If background characters wear headbands with Guinevere's buns on them, Glitch could be on their way to getting their asses sued if they're not careful, but maybe they don't care. It would be funny if they were so openly scathing that Disney shat itself. If you're going to criticize Richard Rat, it's better to go for the kill instead of pussyfooting around like so many projects do.

What are you talking about? Her making an entire show about a Disney park rip off to seethe about her "mistreatment" (They just treated her like any other animated Disney showrunner instead of the UwU special girl she mistakenly believes she is) by Disney is the height of subtlety.

I agree that it's a tired subject. I wonder if it will even have the impact it's trying to make. Ooh, "happiest place on Earth" is run by an evil corporation? What is Shrek? What is Defunctland?

I don't think it will be successful unless it transcends the bottom-of-the-barrel idea and is able to be entertaining on its own merit. If it's just a preachy therapy project that tells aspiring animators to not work for Disney, it's going to flop hard.
 
Calling it now that this series is going to hyper-appeal to lesbian non-binary chicks with colored hair and few others.
I say this because that's about 80% of the Owl House fanbase, and they make sure to let you know it.

100%. I think that's the case for a lot of millennial-women-led media. Whether that's Steven, She-ra, HGS, Owl House, etc. Most of them have prom episodes because they never went to prom, they make them gay to get back at their Christian parents, and so on.

On that note, I'm so fucking tired of these shows just taking real-life words and swapping a letter to make their fantasy equivalent.
"Grom" instead of "Prom"

I can somewhat respect it if say it's on TV or something as an autistic way of bypassing their censors but if you're doing it on a fucking web series where that shit doesn't fucking matter it just makes them look retarded.
