I don't know, man. This Digital Circus short is not for me.
The last minutes were legitimately claustrophobic, but nothing more than that.
Is this supposed to be a comedy? Because my brain only register like three jokes in 25 minutes. And those were not even funny.
Is this horror? Aside from the last minutes, it's too lighthearted and cartoony to be that.
Is this for kids? The whole "existential horror" concept is not something that kids understand.
Is this for adults? Then why the "humour" is so childish?

I'm not saying it is bad, it just doesn't click with me. But I'm glad people are enjoying this. Let's hope it goes well and doesn't end with a grooming case or the studio shutting down after being accused of profiting with clueless kids.

I enjoyed the premise and some of the character design (chess king dude and the theatre mask), but otherwise none of the writing landed for me either. It's the type of edginess that teenagers like but grow out of. For me it's just a sequence of tropes and jokes I've seen done everywhere else. Either way, I'll be waiting for the next episode

Also about the vore fetishist author inserting their fetish into the show — the showhost is literally a floating pair of teeth with a tongue, its odd sidekick also has a giant pair of teeth, it licks puke from the floor and a giant Beetlejuice/Little Shop of Horrors monster eats one of the main characters. Couldn't be more blatant than that.

The reason they can’t leave/don’t remember their names is because their “real selves” aren’t actually there. All of them are just “copies” of the people who put on the headset. The thing scanned their minds, made a copy, and stuck that in the computer.

I find this a very convincing theory, but the main problem is that this exact concept was already done in Black Mirror, in fact I think they've used that premise in at least three separate episodes (Black Christmas, Black Museum, and USS Callister). It's a shame because it would instantly explain virtually everything (why they can't just take the headset off, why they don't need to eat or drink, etc.)
