GLITCH Productions - From the guys that brought you the Super Mario 64 bloopers

So I learned something interesting today. A friend of mine informed me that apparently on Tumblr there was some investigation into the Q&A they hosted during GlitchX.
Now this is a nothingburger, saying it up front if you were expecting something spicy prepare to be disappointed but I thought it was humorous so I'm posting it anyway.

Apparently despite them claiming to be taking questions from the chat during the stream the questions were faked.
Basically someone went through the stream and paid attention to people talking in the chat and the questions themselves and noticed discrepancies between them.
Basically, questions that were never asked, or questions asked by people who weren't even in the chat.

Though I guess it does somewhat call into question what else are they willing to fake?
I guess nobody wanted to have the hassle of answering the weird ass questions (remember THAT incident in one of the MLP conventions?), so they probably just pre-prepared some safe questions just to make the event go smoothly.

I honestly don't blame Glitch that much, fandoms revolving animated media are notoriously full of degens.

So the final episode is set to premiere tomorrow sometime in the evening (at least for me.)

And when I say premiere I mean it's already uploaded and set to become public tomorrow. That being said that means people have already been able to peek its length.
Length Revealed.png

So yeah, it's only 20 minutes and 30 seconds. More or less.

I know I sound like a broken record at this point but yeah, I have basically 0 faith they're going to be able to answer the lingering questions in a satisfying manner in that amount of time.
Even if the final episode was somehow a 60 minute special I'm not sure that would be enough time.

Knowing the series was likely planned to be a lot longer originally definitely explains a lot. Either way, will be tuning in to see how disappointing it ends up being.
Then I'll probably not post in this thread again for a long time. (Maybe) Unless something funny happens to Glitch at some point after this.

Yeah. It went about how I expected. We got no answers and even a seeming cliffhanger ending.
Not really much else to say.
There was a lot of spectacle but no substance.

I completely forgot it was coming out today, sad because if this was a year ago i'd be waiting in anticipation but now I barley care
i'll watch it and get back with my thoughts soon

well thats done I guess.

pretty underwhelming for the most part, except for the eating the null void thingy, that was cool af.

I told ya none of the lore shit would be answered. (and it doesn't really need to tbh)

(and it doesn't really need to tbh)
Sure, you don't NEED to have a story at all, or care about lore or the characters or anything.
But it's going to make it VERY hard for most people to enjoy your story besides a very small subset of people.
Pardon my french but... retards.

Either way, I'm done here. I'll see you faggots whenever Glitch gets themselves into some drama down the road.

Judging by the length of ep 8, I think Liam actually got tired of writing this towards the end, makes you really wonder if he was the reason it only lasted 8 episodes if his tank ran out that fast

It was alright

but it really leaves my questions than answers

like, why is J suddenly on cyn's side, how did V survive, how did the other drones survive the planet being destroyed

yea you can tell with how style over substance it is, I don't think they really wanted to do serious lore or story

what a sad sad end, a new series for the first time i'm excited for ends up like this
well at least it ended, unlike helluva boss that's just a walking corpse of what was once a great show that's still ongoing
if I ever do a rewatch, i'll just rewatch the first 3 episodes and say it all concluded there

Alright ending, even if the action was way too stupid and overblown. Again, not very drama-inducing when every character involved has inconsistent durability limits and most of them can regenerate from any injury. N had his heart ripped out multiple times yet still survives the whole episode.

Mostly I'm impressed at how it ends. Uzi takes a page from Anime Soul Eater and internalizes Solver as her monomyth reward, becoming a tulpa in Uzi's psyche. No telling what happened between that point and Uzi's presentation, so plenty of room for fanfics to decide where it went and plenty of leeway to make those status quls with Uzi having obtained all the Solver's powers. Kinda silly they leave J alive, since this episode's proven she's completely willing to be an utter tool willing to put her corporate mission of "kill all robots" above her own survival or the structural integrity of the universe, but we gotta have a post-story standoffish loner somehow and it's not like our main casts aren't established sociopaths who'd be fine with her sticking around and occasionally killing people for sport - probably making the same accomodation for Uzi, N and V. Makes me curious how Steven Universe fans treated Jasper after Future.

Now that I have let this stew on my mind for a few hours more, I realized something really, really fucking stupid and frustrating about this, and what is easily the worst mistake the show, and that's saying a lot, no joke, I don't even think it's defenders can excuse this.

One of the worst pet peeves I have on any piece of fiction is letting someone who did something really bad and horrible, and then seemingly just getting away with it, nothing, no deaths, no punishment, just wow they get to live free as if it never happened, now if there is some artistic or thematic reason why it ended up that way, and/or they're planning on using them again for a future conflict, that's fine, i get it, but it's ABSOLUTELY UNFORGIVABLE if there's really no logical reason it did not happen.

How does this relate to Murder Drones?, well:
>Uzi, the girl that once massacred her own classmates that one time, is just proudly let back to be a student in the colony?, do I also need to mention she constantly uses her newfound solver bat powers around everyone else, knowing full well what that is capable of.
>N, I don't care how nice he is, he's still a Murder Drone that killed countless workers, and was a willing participant for it until the emo girl told him about the fact that they'll probably run out of oil at some point.
>V, A psycho fuck that tortured her targets to death and was hostile to anyone and everyone until the solver became too much of a glaring threat by ep 6, like N, she is also let in the colony freely because she's dating Lizzy now or something
>J, Someone who KNOWINGLY sided with the solver, and knew it's true nature way before the main trio did, and happily sold out the universe in some vain hope she would be spared by it, she got to live too, guess becoming an eternal loner is punishment enough for her i guess
>And lastly, The Solver, THE thing that caused this whole mess to begin with, blew up earth, tortured the Manor Drones to make them become Disassemblers, terrorized the WD population of Copper-9 for presumably decades via the MDs, killed a teenage girl, skinned her, then wore it, and tried to eat the universe?, you know what happened? she's now some silly and quirky thing living inside Uzi's head to annoy her and stuff

Excuse me?, this is what LV is leaving us off on?, This is pure and complete bullshit, like unironically, and so many fans are completely okay with this, cheered for it even!, like they never thought about the implications of this beyond the flashy fights and visuals.

Uzi, the girl that once massacred her own classmates that one time, is just proudly let back to be a student in the colony?, do I also need to mention she constantly uses her newfound solver bat powers around everyone else, knowing full well what that is capable of.
Okay, I know I said I was leaving but fuck it, I'm not gonna have this discussion anywhere else, because nobody wants to. The wider public just seems to be completely content to ignore everything wrong with the show. :stress:

To be fair, Uzi wasn't exactly in her right mind when she did those things and she seemed to deeply regret it afterwards. HOWEVER, she did pretty much immediately forgive and even fall in love with one of those people that presumably killed hundreds of them. So she's not off the hook either.

You're completely right about everything else though and none of the others even seem to show any kind of regret for the atrocities they committed. Don't forget too that they also presumably slaughtered hundreds of humans too if you remember the flashback scene from Episode 7.
Hell there's even a theory floating around the fandom that the human race was wiped out as in Episode 6 we're shown that the Solver destroyed multiple planets and space colonies of humans. Saw it on various websites and even the comments section of some episodes and as of now we have no clue how accurate that is since we haven't seen a single real human throughout the duration of the series. (Episode 5 was weird memory shit so I don't count it. Humans have literally only ever shown up in flashbacks.)

Honestly I'd argue the DDs especially N are worse here. N pretty much gleefully went along with presumably slaughtering hundreds of humans and worker drones because... uhhhh the company told us to? I guess? We don't know the exact specifics of how everything went down but I do genuinely wonder how Cyn justified slaughtering PEOPLE to N and V. We know J knew what was up from the start but it's heavily implied the other two were manipulated and we know Cyn selectively deletes or manipulates their memories or some shit.
In Episode 1 the lie was something about the company needing them to destroy potentially infected drones to stop a virus from spreading.
So it just makes me wonder like what she told them to get them to slaughter humans beforehand.

And unlike Uzi's case they don't get as much leeway because it's never once implied they lost control of themselves like Uzi did, they willingly went around slaughtering innocent people because someone told them to and they never questioned it I guess until N fell for the "goth gf" meme or some bullshit.

Honestly V was probably the most annoying case for me simply because as you said there were people even cheering it when none of it felt earned in the slightest. Again it literally takes like 1 episodes for her to go from hating everyone else to basically dying for them with no real buildup or anything. And revealing that she actually survived imo was even worse than her just dying too because at least in death there'd be some redemption for her.

And yeah J should've just died. I have no additions to make to that point.

But yeah N literally just said "I'm sorry." and everyone just forgave him and that was it, hell in Episode 4 I think it was? The other drones were basically lusting after him and V. Fuck they treated those two better than fucking Uzi like... what? They treated these two basically monsters that presumably killed hundreds of them better than one of their own classmates???

EDIT: Oh yeah don't forget too that girl Cyn killed and skinned was the one that saved her ass from the trash dump and was like the one human that treated her like a person. Same goes for the others too, N, V, J. J being completely okay with that is extra heinous given their seeming friendship displayed in Episode 5.

In summary:

The worst part is if you bring ANY of this up to any of the rest of the fandom they either just ignore you or give you some bullshit excuse for it.
Though to be fair it's not the first time I've seen this and probably won't be the last time.
Like yeah blah blah blah at the end of the day they're fictional characters none of it matters. But it's still pretty irritating to see people just completely excuse or ignore the character's crimes like this because it kind of just serves in aiding this feeling that this ending wasn't at all earned.

That being said I don't think I really have anything else to say. I just couldn't resist because you brought up some good points that sadly nobody else is going to. I think I've vented thoroughly however.
The other thing that sucks is most people assume I'm arguing in bad faith or something or that I wanted to see the series fail and was intentionally looking for problems simply for noticing them but the truth is I really wanted to like this series and see it succeed. I wanted to see it possibly improve, but instead I'd argue it degraded with each passing episode which is a fucking shame. And the worst part of it all is that with a few tweaks it could've been "Alright." not amazing, but "Alright." and that's all it probably needed to be. But instead we got a pretty looking but ultimately dogshit show.
Again it's a very special kind of frustration because they were THIS CLOSE and they fumbled the bag hard.

I just hope in a year when the hype and fandom dies down people will look back and be far more critical of the show since it has some major flaws i barley see anyone bring up

You know, that's the worst part of it, that all of these genuine critiques are true, but the actual fanbase mostly ignore this and go back to playing dolls with the characters, do you people recognize that the characters the fandom is drawing and talking and dreaming about are significantly sanitized versions of what they actually are, its a weird mass-hypnosis to ignore the bad parts as much as possible, this is true of any media where the hot and sexy gets excused for that reason, but this is really noticeable when the three main characters are all unapologetic mass murderers with no remorse for what they did.

I feel like LV might go the way of vivziepop, this toxic cycle of fans with no critical thinking skills whatsoever, just praising what is shown in front of them, never ever thinking about any other implications, if the overwhelming majority of fans are just these guys, then whats stopping him from making the same incoherent thing again on his next project?, have you people seen how much of the HH/HB fandom has gone into bad shitstorm and bleed itself dry for the past few years over subpar content?

Good news, a large portion of the fanbase is actually being divided now after the finale, a lot of them are no longer holding back the fact that ep 8 is horribly rushed, and did not have that good of an ending.

Nice to see them actually get some level of independent thinking and realize what went wrong in it, its better they realized it now than never, maybe these people can actually let their voice be heard for once

Can you show some examples, i'd love to see
I looked myself a few hours ago and found a couple but not much

I check the subreddit when a new episode drops

Its literally on its own civil war right now between the finale supporters and the finale haters, go visit it for a few minutes, everyone has basically one of these two opinions

There is one thing I forgot in my previous post however. The only one that seemingly paid for their crimes was Doll.

And I even saw people complaining about that oddly enough. Saying she got done dirty. :stress:

I mean, I don't disagree but at the same time she was barely a character if I'm being honest. Even less so than the others. If anything she was the most basic villain you could imagine. Basically just served as an obstacle for Uzi and not much else. Not really sure why so many people are fucking obsessed with her.

She has no fucking character.
Also semi-related but since I'm on the subject of Doll it also amazes me how nobody else seemed to realize Lizzie was seemingly helping Doll murder people. But nobody ever brings it up either. The fans don't and none of the characters in the show ever acknowledge it either.

You'd expect at least Uzi or somebody would be like "Hey wait a fucking second, you helped her try to kill me!"

I mean, the main cast is sociopathic murderers that regularly consume other robots for pleasure and hold no hard feelings towards each other's bodycounts, so it's not like they would've cared about anything Doll did or anybody who helped her kill people.
