Tony Hawk 5 Reports are telling that the game is buggy as fuck, glitchy and yes overall a mess. My sister was a big fan of this game and we used to play Pro Skater every day after school, so I'm just looking at this with dissapointment. The bugfix is apparently bigger than the game, believe it or not.

So I was wondering if anyone has had a fair share of bug/glitch stories or videos to watch?

For starters: In the game Miasmata there was a glitch where the monster did not despawn. The monster is programmed like a stalk/ambush monster which appeared after a while, following the pulsing sound of your heart. It attacked you from the back (so you had to face it) until it grew uninterested as it lost lost line of sight of you and despawn. The bug stopped the monster from despawning and it would continue to hunt for you and follow you through the entire game without rest.

Some people also figured out if you ran into a village the monster would spin in circles forever and and allow you to leave, but would respawn later and repeat the process again.

I remember once playing Crash 3 in level 1; I collected the crystal and the gem and then went back into the level got all the boxes again and the floating box tally thing was still there and so it gave me a relic.

This was done on the ps1 disc back in 2002 on the original fat ps1 console

Never managed to do that again

I had this hunting game on the PS2 and a deer like rotated around a bit after I shot it

One time I was playing some co-op Left 4 Dead 2 with a friend, and during an elevator segment, one of the AI players nudged me. Suddenly my camera began flipping the fuck out, and before I knew it, I was falling down a bottomless pit to my death!

There was also another instance in a custom Disney themed campaign called "Journey to Splash Mountain" Where a tank killed me, then got stuck in the seat I had been sitting in.

Sonic 06 in general:

In particular, in the first mach speed section of the game, I found myself dying at the end over and over because the way the corkscrew at the end was designed, there's a pretty big chance of missing the dash panel at the end entirely and falling into the ocean. How the hell do you fuck up what is supposed to be an automated sequence??

I once played Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and when surfing I landed but ended up encountering an enemy in the landing animation and I was stuck partway through the animation unable to move

Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness is chock-full of bugs. They rushed the game, so in a sense it was inevitable, and as a result a lot of people dislike it. Perhaps the worst bug is one I unfortunately have in my copy - it literally prevents you from beating the game, no matter how many different save files you create. Your only option is to buy a new copy of the game.

It's a real shame too, because the plot of AoD is actually good. *sigh* What could've been...

But as far as funny glitches go:

Few weeks ago while playing Deadly Premonition, I failed to avoid the Raincoat Killer while in the bar I was led to. When he ran to the hiding spot I was in, the camera moved past the hiding spot and the wall behind it, eventually moving far back from the area one would play in, showing the black void the interior of the bar was in.

As for funny glitches I have seen, this from Far Cry 2 shows water can be bad for you.

Playing Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, in the section where you're the Sandwraith and you're in the Library, I managed to climb up onto the ledge and was able to attack the Dahaka freely. But then he actually killed me and when I reloaded, the door I needed to go through was shut. I had to restart the entire game and play all the way back to that point. I was supposed to climb up and around him, but teasing the Dahaka somehow triggered the door closing early.

...For those of you that aren't aware, this is about... 90-95% through the game?

I have a few. I tend to take screenshots when I notice them.

I was playing Half Life 1 deathmatch with a friend of mine and we ended up killing each other. But for some reason his corpse was glitched in attacking animation.

I was playing Max Payne on the level where you chase Vinnie Gognitti throughout New York. I think I broke his script and he just stopped in place. He's normally supposed to run away from the player until the end of the level where he fights back. He was invincible in this state

I was playing Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag and this notorious glitch where the player's ship doesn't spawn in correctly. Leaving a big empty square of water where it should be until it suddenly appears from the depths of the ocean.

I once glitched Duke Nukem 3D so incorrect textures appear. Here some strange texture replaced the ocean in the first level

I was playing Fallout 1 and I developed a habit of shooting enemies in the eyes because of the damage delt. When I started fighting the master, I shot him in the eyes with a crit.

'Player hit the master for x damage, actually blinding the master'

The moment that message was displayed, the game crashed. The save file wound up corrupted somehow - I saved the game in the middle of combat, and while I could load the saved game, the game would crash when damage by anyone was delt.

In Dwarf Fortress I have a dwarf who got stuck in an attack routine, and spent every day of his life attacking a dwarven child for no discernible reason. Every hit "glanced off" as well. The exact day the kid reached adulthood, he punched the guy in the face and his head exploded into pulp.

I'm not sure if that second part was also a glitch, but it was awesome.

I played the old NES game Bart Vs the World as a kid. It glitched at the Egypt level and got stuck inside the sphinx. I had to restart the WHOLE game all over again. I hate the early 90's gaming and not having save states!

It wasn't necessarily a glitch, but trying to play Dragon Age: Inquisition on my shitty laptop resulted in tons of lag that led to many, many awkward pauses in all the conversations.

Acclaim Simpsons a shit.

I got Dragon Warrior after the "subscribe and get Dragon Warrior free" promotion.
Had a save I was decently along in.
Started a new save.
Put in my name as... whatever the Legendary Hero's name was. Eldrick? Edrick?
Starts as my inventory of slot one, level one, with the princess fresh from the dungeon outside the dungeon.
I winged back and it was normal from there, but with the princess already saved.

Someone should just stick the dynamite in the Tony Hawk series void and blast it all to hell. I'm sure the Hawk man himself is tired of being inundated by no-name gaming studio sponsors whoring for his social media account. Neversoft is long gone.

On topic:

Halo has some incredible glitches and by far some of the most helpful by ratio of exploitable design. Bungie intended, I think, to make Outskirts have a more restrictive element due to all the sequences between the Pelican crash site and Hotel Zanzibar. I'm not convinced it was ever meant to be cheesed as easily as it can be.

Spyro past the first game has mad clipping passages that, as per video evidence, would allow you to beat the game in literally under five minutes. This is kind of bleak given how absolutely disgusting Enter the Dragonfly was -- which could be beaten in under five minutes as well but was apparently ten times harder to pull off due to jack shitty controls.

BULLY's spectacularly retarded 360/Wii/PC ports not only introduced horrible clipping, but using a trashcan and clipping through the walls will let you explore Bullworth London without beating the first chapter.

PAL versions of Crash had interesting glitches not all of which were by mistake, if anyone remembers the phantom crystal glitch that let you collect every single Purple Crystal (and one black one) without having to even exit a level.

Hitman: Contracts is interesting because there are a few levels where you don't have to exit the starting point to kill the main targets, but it can break a lot of sequences and severely whittle down your options to take out sequential targets. It can mess up your silent assassin easily and often when you could have achieved SA.

Grand Theft Auto's IV and V have some of the best map clipping glitches, but what's most spectacular is the famous Swing Catapult.

Mortal Kombat Advanced didn't even animate blood correctly.

Fallout: New Vegas can get pretty broken if you don't time/order sequences correctly. I fucked up the Camp Forlorn Hope so many times because my asset got his head blown off. I also rendered the NCR-Sided arc unwinnable due to not visiting tribes according to the established lore.

Tilting cartridges are always fun.

It's infact the opposite. He seems to be totally on-board and is trying desperately to make the series relevant. He was even the biggest spokesperson for Tony Hawk Ride and even went as far as to claim people who disliked the skateboard controller didn't give it a fair shot.

I think he's starting to notice that his retirement is not helping him financially and while I'm sure he has a pretty good nest-egg for himself he does have financial realities. Unfortunately it's clear even Tony didn't know what made the series good and most of the fans saw PS5 sucking a mile away.

This guy goes into both THPS HD and PS5. And just from observing the trailers this guy predicted it was going to suck.

Ultima Underworld had a glitch were your inventory would get corrupted. It happened to me once while fighting a stone golem, and I had several items replaced with both random and normally non-pickup items, like blood stains and damage.

IT-HE Software
has whole sections of weird bugs, exploits and glitches on several games. Rallying UNATCO against a vacuum cleaner in Deus Ex is probably my favorite:

Deus Ex has a lot of very bizarre glitches. There's even an entire walkthrough someone is making where he attempts to catalog every single glitch in the game. It's up to 39 parts so far. There are glitches in the game like if you kill yourself on an elevator while the elevator is moving into a loading zone, you'll respawn at 0 HP when the next map loads. Stuff like that.
