It still bothers me. Why are these autistic kids or manchildren obsessed over this stupid software? Is it due to the characters that look and animated straight off of a Seth MacFarlane show? I'm not surprised if that's the reason, but still.

I remember stumbling across one of those channels years ago, when I was sleep deprived. What a fucking trip it was.

I was puzzled by it the next day, and then completely forgot about it, but reading this thread just confirmed my suspicions about who was behind (and mostly watches) this. Kids, autists, and austistic kids. Makes sense.

This particular GoAnimate channel and its content is quite the rabbit hole. While otherwise a typical channel of its type, the main star of its videos is Zerithyl, a character who seems to have been purposefully written to be as obnoxiously edgy as possible - even by GoAnimate standards! - yet simultaneously have just about the most uninspired design of the lot, being literally the design most users use for Boris, but recoloured into an odd greenish-brown.
