I don't know if this is sufficiently Lolcowish, but this is just ridiculous to me.

I mean, all this is is cyber panhandling. These aren't even like Kickstarters, these aren't for PROJECTS, or THINGS....this is simply "give me money".

That's entirely it. How can people be this...ballsy, about panhandling. "Hi! I exist and I'm attractive, pay me!"

70k was raised through GoFundMe for the 11 year old brony who tired to hang himself. It seems perfect for charities and such, but people will take advantage of it like any system.

Ayn Rand must be rolling in her grave. I say we put her coffin in a turbine to produce free power...which would only cause her to spin faster, generating more free power, causing her to spin faster...

I think I just invented perpetual motion.

Do you need proof for your claims? What's to stop me from saying I'm a single mother trans woman of colour with Autisim who's battling Canceraids and I need $20,000 RIGHT NOW or I'll day in two days?

I refer to this site as "HeyGiveMeMoney.com" -- I didn't even know about it until a personal LOLcow of mine lost their home in a foreclosure that they have had two years and several chances to stop. First thing she did was gallop over to GoFundMe and ask for 75K so that her family can buy a new house. No takers. She has now lowered it to 55K. No takers. I love that she's having a sale on begging.

A friend posted one for another friend she has on facebook and got upset with me asking questions about the kid needing the money.
 
I remember seeing one awhile ago about some chick begging for money because she didn't like her boyfriend anymore and wanted to move away but didn't want to get a job to fund her ~dream~

She was offering nudes in exchange for high enough donations, at least.
