Gone with the Wind removed from HBO Max

I enjoy the part where they assume all black slaves wanted freedom and to have black slaves who stay with the whites that owned them is grounds to take that shit down. Newsflash, some slave owners treated their slaves very well and some even stayed after the EP. Song of the South is a good example of this because everyone loved Uncle Remus. This is some polished smooth brained shit.

Physical media >>>>> streaming media.

While completely true, some companies can't get their shit together when it comes to that.

>Ren & Stimpy, Uncut, Uncensored, Unedited
>literally uses the MTV cuts/edits that remove shit

I know anything Looney Tunes is a fucking nightmare to sort through cause WB purposefully neglects to add shit. From what I saw online, The Golden Collection seems to be the best way to go.

Dumb move, HBOMax. You were getting subs because of the new Looney Tunes cartoon and the Snyder Cut coming soon. Choosing NOW to be history-erasers is going to hurt you more than help. Just ask Netflix.
Who's next on the chopping block?

Don't go breaking my heart.
(plus the actual mexicans told WB to fuck off and keep speedy so hopefully he keeps sticking around.)

I doubt anyone will be made racist from watching Gone with the Wind, but I'm sure people will get a better understanding of the differences between the past and present by viewing it.

The Jazz Singer, AKA the first movie with synchronized sound is about a performer who does blackface. Getting rid of racism means you get rid of history and lose all the lessons that these less enlightened times can teach us.

“Hattie McDaniel became the first black actress to be nominated for, and win, an Academy Award for her role as domestic servant Mammy.”

McDaniel became the first black person to win any Oscar— actress, director, costumer, whatever. She was proud of the movie and of her work.

Today is also McDaniel’s birthday. Great optics HBO.
I guess by today's standards, she's an Uncle Tom. Way to disrespect history by outright removing it from existence.

When people ask who was the first Black person to win an Academy Award, we can't share it because they played a role that was topical for the time.

Fuck historical context, am I right?

The next black person to win an Academy Award was James Baskett in 1948. It was a special Oscar honoring his portrayal of— wait for it— Uncle Remus in Song of the South.

Now League of Gentlemen has been removed from netflix for black face which it doesn't have, Papa Lazarou is just a clown hell, can even see his white skin.

“It follows the removal of Little Britain from Netflix.” Well this is the worst.

What the hell. There is no "blackface" in LB or Come Fly with Me (also removed!). The "black" characters are black people, so of course they had to wear make-up since the actors are white. This is actually making me really mad. It's insane.

Let's erase history. Therefore, censoring actual Black achievements made during a time where racism was normalized.

Actors play the part they are assigned. If they don't like it, they decline and move on to something else.
