Contrary to what you hear from Jim, there is still a decent amount of great fanart and art there but unfortunately much of it is swamped by trash.

Good art on DeviantArt? There's no such thing!
Okay, obvious jokes aside, there are good artists, but the overwhelming majority of them are professional artists, be they freelancers or employees of a given company. Beyond that, it comes down to personal preference. Here's a link to one of my favorite galleries. If you've seen the Dark Souls concept art, the style should look familiar.

Guess I'll post this one too. You can debate whether it's a DeviantArt thing or not. Perhaps it ought to specified that the work should have the watermark of the site (as opposed to the clear patreon account and symbol posted on the following) .

Some artwork you find online can be better than the stuff that "contemporary" art critics rave about. It's sad a lot of talented people are reduced to drawing diperfur commissions
