Good movies about Autism

Forest Gump, because he doesn't let his autism stop him from being a war hero and getting laid and becoming a succesful businessman, making Tom Hanks an Autistic Role Model.

Also Full Metal Jacket because Private Pyle ends up being a good shooter in spite of his overwhelming autism.

Some people even consider it a propaganda film.
I'm looking for the review that said that, but I can't remember what site. I think it had a review of Sylvester Stallone's porno on it.

That reminds me, Rocky I

Also, never question anything. Just go with the flow and things will turn out fine.

The original Winston Groom novel is hilarious. The novel Forrest is a antiheroic jerk and bigot who realizes that his low intelligence makes people underestimate him and he uses it to his advantage, and the tone is a lot more farcical than the movie. Forrest winds up as a pro wrestler and an astronaut, for instance, and he gets chased around by angry mobs a lot. And instead of Lieutenant Dan his best friend is a orangutan who knows sign language. Seriously.

As much as I didn't like Mercury Rising for using his character's autism as a springboard into a conventional chase thriller plot, Miko Hughes's performance as a child with a severe case of the disorder was actually pretty fucking spot on, in my book. The kid was about ten around the time he made it with Bruce Willis, and he actually did a fuckton of research to prepare for the role. That takes serious balls.

The Devil & Daniel Johnston, I'm not sure if he has autism or not, but it is a really good documentary detailing life with mental disorder.
