there aren't a lot of animators left on youtube, and the ones that are aren't generally very active, but they all deserve a shout-out for sticking with it after algorithm changes fucked that whole scene over (and for being talented in their craft). the ones i personally enjoy are 4096 (somewhat more simple, but chill and very cool, somewhat abstract stuff), Felix Colgrave (acid trips, but he's a super talented animator), Worthikids (this dude makes Blender animations look like stop motion, he's basically a wizard), and TerminalMontage (super goofy/meme-y, but the animations are legitimately awesome).

for gaming youtubers that haven't been mentioned yet there's Nitro Rad (might not be to you guys' tastes but i find his general positivity really refreshing), brutalmoose (doesn't do many gaming videos anymore but his vibe is chill as fuck and his editing is excellent), Mandalore (if you know Sseth you probably know Mandy), minimme (lots of vids on weird obscure ports and tie-in games), and TehSnakerer (more long-form analysis of games, lots of euro-jank, has been covering all the Yakuza games in excruciating detail).

and finally everything else: DankPods (started as an ipod channel, slowly branched out into other old tech, talks about a lot of retro trash), Every Frame a Painting (no longer active, but a wonderful channel if you're into the editing of movies), Flatbush Cats (NYC cat rescue/foster organization, very chill, usually heartwarming), Myles Power (professional chemist who likes to debunk woo bullshit, focused a lot on GMO fear-mongering and 9/11 truthers), Posy (not sure how to describe this one... i just enjoy his videos. and his music), Smarter Every Day (this guy's genuine passion about everything science-related is infectious), Technology Connections (covers similar ground to Techmoan, though a bit more generalized), and finally TheLionWhisperer (might be controversial to some but he's dedicated a lot to conservation and clearly loves the animals in his care; he doesn't breed them and isn't a rescue, so isn't taking in any more animals he doesn't plan to try and rehab/rerelease. everything he currently does is focused on fundraising to maintain care for his current animals and to give back to conservation of African wildlife).

Pet YouTube has personalities I enjoy quite a bit: Clint's Reptiles, Snake Discovery, Dark Den, Dave's Little Beasties. Good advice on husbandry in a non-judgmental way with great facilities. Dave's Little Beasties is probably the most adorable channel I've ever seen.

There are certainly some potential cows that I think would be lulzy to discuss on here (e.g., lots of weird shit centering around EmZotic), but I've enjoyed how wholesome the majority of it is.

I really like Clint's reptiles. His positivity keeps his videos interesting. Would have probably hated him as a teen since hes arguably a total geek and really goofy but his enthusiasm is genuinely endearing and infectious. Makes him really likeable and as an educator can see how he's good at keeping your attention whilst still being really informative.

Spoke to one of my friends about this before, work bores the tits off you and if you were back at school it'd be great to have classes about history, chemistry etc stuff your actually interested in now but slept through back in the day, dont fancy doing biology in current year now.

Wasnt emzotic into a lot of wierd shit? shes an extra in the human centipede 2 and you see her bare arse, think she was posting a lost of photos of her feet and some had her per snakes round them. I'd still fuck her though I don't care lol

Without revealing my power level, I have similar academic credentials to Clint (different field) and I try to have that level of infectiousness when I give presentations or teach. It baffles me how people have a hard time discussing evolutionary science and keeping it interesting. I believe Clint would be a good ambassador to ensure biological principles are correctly taught to keep certain insane ideas from gaining strength. It's amazing how some people in evolutionary science get their feelings hurt these days when others remind them that non-Western cultures' deviation from supposed gender norms are not evidence of sex differences being a product of culture.

From what I remember, Emzotic got busted for talking shit about friends of her in an unhinged way in a forum that was supposed to be anonymous and she kept identifying herself. She also has bipolar for which she did not medicate properly for a while, which could make some of her shitty attitudes turn into shitty behavior (bipolar didn't cause her to be terrible, just made her behavior worse). There was discussion of her most recent breakup with Danny Mendez being due to some of kind of abuse from him, but it sounds more like a self-serving bias from Emzotic and the breakup was also about Danny trying to keep his kids safe from her (no winner situation). She also rehomed Danny's pet skunk in the breakup, if I'm not mistaken. I'd fuck her, too, but would need to ensure it remains limited to a very short-term context because the costs of her craziness would likely exceed the benefits.

Matt's Offroad Recovery is seriously the most wholsome shit on youtube

This dude, Bob, seems to live in a halfway house and takes it upon himself to reintegrate nutters fresh from the psych ward into society... by taking them out for fast food and filming "reviews" in his car. Each video seems to have a fresh cast of trippers that even he doesn't know.

It's surprisingly wholesome.

Just an old B*itish dude who makes videos about whatever he thinks is interesting. His scam baiting is gold and his food videos are actually pretty entertaining

Suggestions of vids to start with:

I'm personally a big fan of Bedtime Stories. They mainly focus on spooky shit (aliens, cryptids, ghosts, unsolved murders, etc.), but they do an excellent job of it. They've covered everything from MH-370's disappearance to the (alleged) crash of a UFO in Aurora, Texas in the late 1800s, and with great art to boot.

The channels I love the most are DrBallen, Gaming historian, Noclip, Game chasers, Top hat gaming, JCS psychology, Slopes game room and Guru Larry.

Abom79 is a a third generation machinist, working in (or running now) his family's machine shop, he has a really great demeanor and his attention to detail is really interesting to watch.

I see your Abom and Raise you a Clickspring -

The dude is a legitimate legend when it comes to fine precision and historical mechanical movements - up to and including rebuilding the Anticythera mechanisim using period tools, he's that good he caught something everyone else who's studyied it missed and recently published a research paper on it.
