A meteor coming to end the world is the dumbest idea for a plot hook because the last thing anybody would be doing before the planet explodes is going to fucking class.

I forget who it was earlier in the thread but they kept saying that it should be framed as a teenage roadtrip and I agree with that for this exact reason.

Edit: @Activelo I went ahead and archived that new teaser and the other link for the song used, it's hardly worth archiving but here it is anyways. It really does look exactly like it's just gonna be Life Is Strange but for scalies, the animation is really stiff and everything in the art is just way too bright for me. It's like these people don't understand shading or something. They were right about the music too, it really does sound like the most disposable and generic Spotify/Soundcloud royalty free shit you can find.

I am not defending ko_op or anything, but I do actually want to be fair to them and the game.
In terms of scope and what they are atleast saying the game will be is much much bigger, many more choices and actual animation to name some of the stuff.
The writing will most likely be bad, but at least as a game it is atempting to be more than just a simple vn
Out of curiosity do you consider Life is Strange it's sequels to be "games" and not just "simple vns"? IMO LiS, Wolf Among US, and the games like them fall far closer to the western equivalent of a VN then say something like Dangonronpa or Phoenix Wright.
Also, don't think adding in simple minigames makes a VN not a VN, like some Japanese VNs do. Sure I imagine if they are just doing Scalie Life is Strange that's slightly more ambitious then a Ren'Py game, but only barely.

Ackshually, they would theoretically see it coming at least for a couple days before it hits

I've always considered LiS and the more interactive Telltale games to fall more into the adventure game genre.

I'm glad this thread exists, or I'd have missed out on Snoot Game. Had a surprisingly fun time with it and it honestly had me laughing at several points. So thanks for that!
I hit ending three first just like almost anyone would have. Yeah it is a
bittersweet ending, but it's open to interpretation: once the protagonist and Lucy are back together, he may be able to encourage her to get further into music again and generally grow as a person, find new friends, etc. It's obviously no ending 4, but I still feel like it was a 'good' ending.

Also thank fuck there was a lack of awkward furry sex scenes.

They just seem to me like a more boring version of the 90s point and click adventure games like day of the tentacle and monkey island.
At the very least unlike VNs you can actually control the characters sometimes, even if the actual gameplay is mechanically boring
Also now that I think about it, I am not sure if I would even call games like Ace attorney and Snatcher VNs or just text and menu based adventure games, because they have exploration and puzzles, and some other mechanics that make them more mechanically involved

That's a epic dark reference to never bring the franchise alive again.
Reminds me of 80's Transformers movie.
there's always prequels my melanin-skinned friend, there is always prequels...
Another delay, eh? I wonder what's the development is like. 🤔
Passive agressive hell
you both assume there is a development going rather than opening unity and letting the damn thing stay like that for a few hours before thinking on what to do to post on twitter or whatever equivalent them dudes are running off to.

I don't see how your statement contradicts my assessment :P

there is noting to contradict tbh, they are still grifting and will release GVH once they can't grift no more because star citizen ruined the "keep the scam going" thingy.
although that gator game being pushed to 2023 was pain.

that gator game?

With a name like "Goodbye Volcano High" I always thought it was a sequel to some other game I hadn't known about. Nope, all it was was a "deep and emotional" moniker to produce some emotion.
