I remember reading a playstation magazine issue because it had exclusive hitman 3 coverage and they were shilling this game so hard in one of the articles

Yes, KF users tried to make one called Love Me. You can actually see them conceptualize it in the yandere simulator thread (the one for the game, not Alex).
I've done it on the yansim fangames thread, and I guess I will here too, but I always talk about how the FNaF fanbase always makes pretty good games, and I could recommend tons that are very unique and have great mechanics. I'd also say they're drama-free, and don't have anything against the dev, but that's sadly not true, because some shit in the fanverse went down this summer, which could be it's own thread.
Okay, I'll stop rambling about FNaF before someone slaps me with one of Fang's very broken arms.
The parallels between FNaF fandom and other fandoms is the best talk, and most activity this thread could have in years( maybe decades given how slow this dev team is).

It would also be more interesting then GBVH will be. (:_(

Anybody got the school shooter parody art and the German version of it?

Kotaku posted an article about the game and the 4Chan version, dubbed Snoot Game. The takeaway is that the devs have hugboxed the discord to the point that "personal questions" must be answered to join it, and banned any art related to the 4Chan game, despite a major lack of distinguishing factors between GVC and Snoot Game. The game's missing release date was also noted, despite claiming it will be out in 2022. I can't help but feel like the devs are trying to use the Snoot Game debacle to justify why it's taking longer, as well as using the article to garner pitybucks.

Talk about striking while the iron's fucking freezing, holy shit.

After all this time Kotaku writes about this shit game and it is mostly just whining about Snoot Game. Not an actual update on the games development, but just bitching about and giving attention to the superior "opposition". Just more evidence Goodbye Volcano High is never gonna be released. At least, it is good to know the devs cannot get over Snoot Game.

I'm kind of annoyed how much the article glosses over Snoot Game just dismissing it as a bad faith game meant to troll poor innocent KO_OP, it does what most parodies struggle to do and stand on it's own merits and can be enjoyable even for someone who doesn't know its a parody.

The most glaring thing about this article, everything about it screams "we hate Snoot Game because the team behind it released a finished and well made product." Meanwhile it's been two years since Sony previewed their game, and countless other "small budget" or "indie" titles (i.e Black Tiger, Square Enix's The Quiet Man) that Sony have backed have gone to shit, so I wouldn't be shocked if Sony is expecting something decent with GVC, yet nothing has really been done. Instead of a proper update to this game, the devs are literally seething at the fact that a bunch of anonymous retards have produced something tangentable and, quite honestly, good. I've seen a playthrough of this game, and while it is at its heart a parody, it's a damn good parody of visual novels, the likes of which I've not seen since Katawa Shoujo.

Looks like we got another article, this time claiming cavemananon "stole" assets from GVH to make Snoot game (as if you can steal assets from a game that hasn't gotten leaked, let alone been made). How much the devs want to throw the towel and are going to use the "ohhhh the harassment" excuse so they can cancel the game without getting shit from Sony?

I too believe, it finally dawned on them they will never finish the damn thing and they lash out by attacking Snoot Game. Or perhaps someone at Sony remembered GVH is a thing and asked for a progress update. I hope they all end up getting fired. The industry needs to realize crazy shitlibs are a liability, because they are lazy, incompetent and malicious.
Anyway, GVH popping up again made me replay Snoot Game, as I haven't unlocked all the endings last year. Thanks KO-OP for reminding me.

From the article "Goodbye Volcano High offers a vehicle for under-represented voices to be heard, offering stories that don’t fit into other games, but are important all the same."
How can they say that? The game isn't out, they fired the writing team and hired new people and the only updates they post is unfinished art pieces.

edit: oh now it makes sense, at the bottom of the article it says this "Written by Junior Miyai on behalf of GLHF."
What is GLHF? According to their site they are marketing shills writing puff pieces for publishers and developers, "audience engaging" advertising you could call it so it makes sense that they would push that worn out angle to try to make people buy it just to spite the supposed alt-right.
"...as well as best-in-class commercial support and creative solutions, the company is able to reach, engage, and monetize the gaming audience across the globe."
and
"We operate on a revenue share model, so there’s no direct investment on the partner’s side – we only succeed if you do. With award-winning writers, decades of experience in growing audiences, best-in-class SEO practises, and unrivalled industry contacts, "

Saying someone stole your assets is a pretty big claim and whether they're using them to make money or not sounds like a perfect chance to issue a cease and desist order, maybe KO_OP hasn't done so because this is a load of horse shit. Though on the topic of KO_OP and Sony there is no way they're getting out of this deal, even a half finished mess will give them some return and something is better than nothing.
