Vriska Serket is a name that sounds so fake I'd expect her to call me about my car's warranty.
Also it brings a smile to my beak to see Xavier refs in the wild.

I started wondering here.
How is it any different from something like Life is Strange.
Yeah, you got dinosaurs, but is that the selling point?
I must again bring out Katawa Shoujo, which is free, has animated cutscenes, pretty decent art, mostly okay writing and a more down to earth story.
I don't think that these "developers" are able to give us a better story than any decent VN that has been released on steam.
And it's about dinosaurs. Unappealing artwork of dinosaurs too. It's the niche of niches.

I thought the selling point was "Look! We have a non-binary/trans dino girl! Look!" while Life is Tumblr selling point "How you doing fellow kids" with super powers.

You must be outside the homestuck sphere.

Lucky.

Someone in the GVH Discord (not one of the devs, just some guy) is planning to make a 3D full length movie for GVH called Project Mindwave in order to "change the haters' perspective on the game." It's supposedly to be released two days after the game itself.

For the game itself, we have a new screenshot.

QA Lead and Programmer won't be well-paid.
those "become onwer shit" are never good, i told once that on my country some turboniggers literally wanted a QA that knew how to code (even though QA's don't code AT ALL) which basically was asking for a low-level programmer to do the combined backbreaking work only to get paid as a QA...
fucking niggers.

25 days of paid vacation? Most companies around here don’t offer that till you’ve worked at a place for somewhere between 5 and 10 years. 17 is the standard starting offer.

…well, they say 5 weeks, so that might be 20 days due to 4 day work week? That still seems high.

How the fuck is an unrelated movie made by some rando supposed to change anyone's mind about the game? They realize that sharing the same subject doesn't make them literally the same thing, right??

Now, if they were doing an in-depth analysis, that would be one thing. But that's not what they said, and not at all what they're going to do.

One of the people in the Snoot Discord installed BetterDiscord and the plugin that allows him to see all channels in the GVH Discord, regardless if he has access to it or not. He can't read the contents of the channels, though. Since this thread is being monitored, I censored his name to be on the safe side.

According to him, ever since they had people apply to join their Discord around 3 months ago, they created separate channels for every single application they received. 257 people attempted to join the server since then.

:story: This. It's actually impressive how much procrastination these people get up to. Kinda creepy too, you gotta wonder if they do full blown background checks just to join their server.
Discord gayops and purity checks are more important than actually making the game. Obviously.

The "ebil 4chan nahtzees" are yet again more productive than the terminally online types.

Just the way the beak juts awkwardly off to the side is enough to diagnose the artist with terminal furfaggotry.

The problem is facing forward she's going to look like she has no chin and a very wide smile. That's why they're drawing it to the side. They know if they were to draw it from a direct front perspective she's going to look retarded.

Here lets look at how dolphins look from the front.

This is what she would look similar to if it was the correct perspective.
It doesn't have to be this way, you can get a decent looking face from all angles if you take a little inspiration from nature. Key problem is that they're basically just plopping a beak and other accessories onto a human head, which of course looks kind of retarded.
Imagine what they'd look like without hair, I took twenty minutes to find out;

The answer is... kind of silly. Nice head spike dude! Maybe it's a little unfair to criticize parts of the design that are by design hidden, but really, how is that thing supposed to actually attach to the head? How are any of these parts supposed to fit together? On some level this is just a 2d vs 3d disagreement —you can get away with way more questionable designs in 2d— but even then if your design doesn't really make sense, it's going to innately look funny, and as mentioned by Marissa, you're going to end up either consciously or unconsciously restricting your camera angles

For reference, here's a character I've been slowly god do I loath retopo finishing up. I took a raptor as reference, and simply adjusted the eyes to face entirely forward. The mouth is still a little funny, but overall I think I've done a decent job of mixing a little anthropomorphization into the source material.

The reality is, if you're going to have a character with a long snout, you have to commit to it and fit the face to it. Just sticking it on the front is at best going to look like somebody wearing a mask.

-snip-
if you have to police your games community this much then there's obviously something wrong with the product you're attempting to create.
they can censor and restrict people from the official communities as much as they want, but that's not going to silence them from discussing it elsewhere and laughing at it, that's not going to make them magically disappear and result in all of your problems going away.

people have serious feedback to give and the proper response to seeing that feedback is to discuss it and find out if there's any actual merit to it, not digitally exiling those people and continuing on the same path that attracted these people in the first place.
it doesn't matter that these people politically disagree with you and/or prefer a fan project, they still have ideas that can be valuable in making a better product and understanding the actual consumer base rather than the carefully curated one full of "yes-men" that they've created and exclusively listen to.
