GPUs & CPUs & Enthusiast hardware: Questions, Discussion and fanboy slap-fights - Nvidia & AMD & Intel - Separe but Equal. Intel rides in the back of the bus.

I am leaning towards user error by Redditor "TrumpPooPoosPants". He probably shut the lid with the CPU seated wrong.
I've seen this post blow up (pun intended) and really am curious if he fucked up or AMD did. Either way, if you're a company and these types of posts go viral you have to be shitting yourself over the negative publicity. Not that I think one random piece of blackened hardware is going to stop the majority of people who are paying scalper prices for them even. Really curious how you manage PR in these cases.

If you zoom in, it looks like the socket may have been damaged and they forced it.

I've been paying attention to my local Micro Center's stock of Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPUs and it seems fairly healthy, they were sold out over the weekend but quickly replenished stock.

Now I'm going through their CPU/mobo/RAM bundles but I'll admit I'm not up-to-date on what makes for a good motherboard.
That's a pretty nice price for an i9, I'm just wondering if it's worth it over the Ryzen 7 7800X3D for gaming.

If you have access to a Micro Center, you are ahead of most of the country and planet when it comes to deals (on newer stuff at least). You'll figure it out.

I usually use wireless so if the motherboard doesn't have that on-board, I need an adapter. The chipset might matter, because the lowest end like A620 drops a critical amount of features. AMD is preparing to muddy the waters with their deceptively named B840 chipset which is the A620 successor.

How do you fuck up so badly? CPUs in these sockets basically install themselves. It must have been really hard to close the bracket above it.
You ever see the video of the chimp with a hammer, trying to hammer nails in to a piece of wood, but he's just mashing the nails on the plank? Some people are like that.

I guess I'll have to go to Micro Center this weekend, I've been extremely lazy in regards to getting off my ass and going due to doing a couple more things with my funky ASUS laptop that confirmed that it's a hardware issue (a fresh BIOS installation and a fresh Windows installation didn't fix the issue) and it being well out of warranty.

What's really sad is that I told a friend of mine that I plan on building a PC at some point and he tried to get me into buying a prefab desktop PC from Starforge Systems (if you're wondering why he's big into Asmongold) and I just told him that I could probably build a better PC for less.

He's a redditor, it's intrinsic to fuck up simple tasks in the most retarded way possible. Wouldn't be surprised if he fucked up setting his RAM sticks and it's only a matter of time until they crap out as well

This video is making me mad. How fucking stupid do you have to be? Normies will think "AMD BAD" because of clickbait.
