so this generation is basically a software upgrade right? also is the fake frames only tied to new games like DLSS, because that basically means there would be fuck all difference between a 4090 and 5090 if you played say Dark Souls 3 or GTA V or RDR 2 or Yakuza 7 or Baulder's Gate 3 or Elden Rin. or pretty much any game not made in the last 3 years AKA the ones that aren't shit
The 5090 at least has a pretty big bump in CUDA cores (21k vs 16k on the 4090) and an increase in memory bandwidth with the new memory, the other ones look like they won't have much of a bump, the increase in core counts is far lower.
As always, we'll have to see if this increase in cores amounts to much of anything, they often don't scale linearly after all.

i'll admit i fucked up using the XX90s as an example, the 4080S and 5080 look fucking identical, literally a 5% bump same with the XX70TI , and the 4070s is faster than the 5070 if you don't factor in frame generation,

Meaning you're literally better off sticking with last gen cards and a 3080 would only be at most 10% slower without OC than a 5070 if you don't factor in frame generation. thats fucking insane. it really seems we're sort of at the end of the GPU race if you can Overclock a card from 2 generations ago and beat the stock of the card a tier down. although it makes more sense if you assume the 5070ti is one tier down and treat the 5070 like the 5060, but it doesn't bode well overall.

Nvidia is discontinuing and selling off the previous generation, and the new MSRPs are lower than expected. Just Wait™ for the reviews instead of scrutinizing weird Nvidia charts.

However, I would be surprised if the 5070 is not at least faster than the 4070 Super (17% more cores but less bandwidth) even with all gimmicks put away.

5070 Ti = 8,960 cores, 896 GB/s, 16 GB
4070 Ti Super = 8,448 cores, 672 GB/s, 16 GB
4070 Ti = 7,680 cores, 504 GB/s, 12 GB
4070 Super = 7,168 cores, 504 GB/s, 12 GB
5070 = 6,144 cores, 672 GB/s, 12 GB
4070 = 5,888 cores, 504 GB/s, 12 GB

Looks like gaymers are going to be pushed into buying the 5070 Ti at a "reasonable" $750 to get 16 GB of VRAM and better performance.

For the non-gaymers who want to do AI stuff, the 5000 series uplifts look huge (unless those TOPS numbers are fudged too).

I still find stupid that the not ridiculous big version is Founder edition exclusive
100% the founders edition. It appears the third party cards are all going to be giant thick boys like the 4090 was.
I think a lot of people were expecting the 5090 to be a huge brick like this, it’s simply amazing they managed a 2 slot cooler for it.
On one hand I like that the founders edition 5090 is a 2 slot card. On the other... I like those monster cards with 3 fans. The look is just peak. I'm torn right now lol. The angled 12vhpr connector is a major plus though

And you never got bottlenecked?
GPU is sitting at minimum usage and CPU regularly caps out at 100% when sitting in game menus and doesn't really change with resolution.

Not just on unreal 5 games either.
This CPU is on it's maxed stable 4.7 GHz overclock.

I dont know honestly because the hardware leakers are getting to weird about the 9070 XT even telling people to not rush for the 5XXX series because something changed and even the leaked benchmarks are showing very impressive results for not using frame generation, the issue would be the price

The supposed leaked MSRP is $480, AIB models at $550. Performance is anyone's guess but could be in the ballpark of 4070 Ti to 4080 Super, with better raytracing than the 7900 XTX. With 16 GB, not a bad matchup against Nvidia.

Even the 9070 non-XT could be decent against the 5070, while retaining 16 GB.

Everything will become clear in 2-3 weeks, don't lose any sleep over it.

if you like fans, there are some MSI 5090 offerings with 7 fans on em.

Does increasing the amount of RGB lights in your computer make it go faster

For my current build I specifically went for the ASUS Pro Art lineup to avoid all that RGB nonsense.

Why are you even considering current gen GPUs at all then? A 3060 12G will play pretty much everything from 2020 and earlier at max settings without any issues.

Im on APU lol, i have been saving for a full rig + shipping to venezuela, is complicated
Fair enough fren, your circumstances are irrational and so you must act in kind.

I paid out the ass for the Asus Proart x670e creator wifi and it's legitimately one of the best purchases I've made in this space. It looks nice, goes well with my fractal north case, and it actually performs to the specification I need (ie - it doesn't crap out when I actually have the temerity to use all my USB ports).

The price is steep but tbh how often do you actually build a computer from scratch.
