The 5950x is a great CPU. What do you care if it's not the absolute latest thing?
Based on the fact it cannot take memory above 4000mhz without issues I cannot help but feel I could've gotten a better deal for the same price if I had waited a few months.
Then again I may just be experiencing buyer's remorse just for the price of it all. I have legit not spent a cent on computer parts (Other than disks) in 5 years and I'm rather out of the loop in a lot of subjects and issues in the market.

I believe the new ryzen series will be based on AM5 and DDR5 ram, so demand for both motherboards and ram sticks will be pretty high making prices absurd for a while. DDR5 ramkits seem to be around 300 dollars for 32 gb at the moment and AFAIK they don't offer much performance increase over ddr4.
I think you're set for a good while with a 5950x and a pretty good mobo.

Should I pull the trigger and just replace my rtx 2060 now or just wait and get a RTX 4070 when it comes out next year? I want to replace this POS but I'm also afraid of being left behind with the newer shit coming out.

What type of system do you have now?

>Ryzen 7
>32GB of RAM
>RTX 2060

Don't even bother trying to replace it. You'll be more than fine for years to come.
I'm not satisfied with the performance I have right now, my GPU is bottlenecking me in VR and ray tracing games.

EDIT: I should probably mention i'm going for an enthusiast build.

Oh, well, in that case, you'd be best off getting the RTX 3060 now, if you can find one for a decent price. Reason I discourage waiting is, who knows how high the prices'll be a year from now.

Get what you can afford, if spending 1k+ on a 3080 is feasible for you right now then go for it. There is not much info on the 4xxx series of cards besides "speculation" about power draw and it using PCIe 5 for power delivery.

I'll have to wait for a couple more paychecks (i'm aiming for either a 3070ti or just going and getting a 3080), hopefully prices will go down more by then.

Saw this while browsing for a gpu to build my first pc with. For those who has this, is this any good? Planning on playing stuff like World of Tanks and PSO2:NGS to kill time

Bad price. Also resolution? Fps? Newegg currently has a Ryzen 5600x/Radeon 6600xt combo for $630. That's a solid starting point.

*Edit* there's also a $150 - 8% bundle on Amazon for 16gb of decent ram and a 1tb pcie4 nvme drive. Find a decent case, 500w PSU, and a $80 mobo. Good to go.

here's my list if you want to scream in terror or nod in approval. I'm going to be using a 1920x1080p with a 75hz refresh rate

Did some quick math and it seems like you are better off with a 5800x and an AM4 motherboard (b550 or x570 based on the features you want), unless you have a specific reason for those components (don't wanna deal with weird AMD issues for example), as for the gpu I would steer more on the nvidia side but I have a bias of not wanting to deal with shitty AMD drivers.
Also you have two different ram kits in that build

I had a 1070 for 5 years and never had any issues with it. I now have a 3070 now and the piece of shit crashes almost monthly. I'd sell the damn thing if the market wasn't still a joke. Seeing 3060 ti cards costing more than what I paid for mine ($500) is madness. Only perk is that my card was made before they made the anti mining efforts.
