There are shades of old Furmark when Amazon's MMO is allegedly frying 3090's. "players are theorizing that there's not an FPS cap on the menu screens, causing GPUs to render 9000+ FPS"

Amazon says that the game is safe, but is patching it following "a few" reports of bricked graphics cards.

Going to reply to this.

Not to long ago you could get quality video cards that you could overclock. They were just that durable.
Now forget it. IMHO all video cards are pushed to the edge of design workability. They do this so the companies can claim "IMPRESSIVE" results.
My AMD 5700 is normally at 189+ volts when playing video games. The video card got hot... too damned hot for my liking... High 80's low 90('s)c which AMD stated "that's fine". Not with me it ain't.
I underclocked my video card by 9.1% (yea hours of tweaking joy) and while playing video games for hours on end at 74c max when my room reaches 36c or higher in the summer.
Normally the video card runs at low 60c when playing video games. Watching youtube the temp is at 41c. power usage is at 32 watts. Room temp at the moment of typing this is 26c.
Frame rate is at 165fpm on a 32 inch 1440p 165mhz monitor and around 185fpm when I reduce the size of the gaming window to 27 inches.
Wattage usage was 136 watts.
The difference between normal and underclocking your video card in my case was 10 to 15fpm at 1440p.
My monitor is a Pixio PX329. Had it for 2 years and nothing but praise.

In ending IMHO you can not trust any of the video gaming companies. There should be no reason for coil whine or excessive heat issues after all of these years. It's all about the PR... the influencers and the gimmicks.
So in my case I'll underclock and undervolt my video cards to have them last for years. WHAT you do is up to you and YOUR MILEAGE WILL VARY AS WELL AS THE RISK.
