Pointed out over on GTAForums, Rockstar couldn't even be bothered to fix the magazines not appearing inside guns during cutscenes.

TheProfessional getting mad. Don't blame him. The most I'm expecting from this is a slight FPS boost because of all the bullshit Online added that lags the game to hell on consoles.

Alright so lemme get this straight:

They already pulled this bullshit with the PS4 version but that at least fucking added new wildlife and lighting systems and the new FPS mode and it took them just over a year to do all that from initial release in Sept. 2013 (released Nov. 2014).

NOW they're doing a PS5 port that adds... fuck all? Faster loading? Maybe some extra sheen here and there? And going by the announcement date in June 2020 it'll have taken them nearly fucking 2 years just for THAT?

What's the play here, because I'm genuinely baffled. Unless everyone at Rockstar are currently sat with both thumbs up their asses for 9/10's of the workday, this just makes no sense to me. I thought these fucks were meant to be being crunched to death?

So R* releases a trailer for a delayed port of an eight-year-old game with NO improvements or gameplay footage for consoles that have backwards compatibility AND are hard to obtain at this time?

I've watched that trailer four times. I could not see ONE difference from that footage and the PC version. I'd argue it looks WORSE.

At least for the PS4/Xbox One rerelease, they added first person mode WITH gameplay to back it up.

What's new with THIS version? SEAMLESS CHARACTER SWAPPING!

All of this could've been an update with existing copies of GTA V. Not a whole rerelease, piss off R* and T2.

It really makes you wonder WTF is being worked on if GTA VI isn't projected to be out until 2025.

Did Houser and Benzies just take everyone with them? Is there nobody that knows how to work with RAGE? There's no way the A-Team has been behind the bullshit in GTA Online, right?

Edit: Checked out r/GTA and they're not happy either. Will Rockstar pay a PR firm to run defense like Volition did with Saints Row? Or will they just let it fester cause dumbass kids will still buy shark cards? (rhetorical, they know kids buy shark cards)

Don't forget that it also had much better foliage density, a larger draw distance, increased traffic density, properly integrated all the Online vehicles & weapons up to that point into the campaign, new vehicles and weapons for the campaign, an expanded soundtrack, and other graphical improvements like better textures. All that, plus the stuff you mentioned, made it a worthwhile purchase if you owned a PS4 or Xbox One.

By contrast, this version has no discernable graphical improvements, doesn't appear to have more songs (if anything, I expect Rockstar to be cheap enough to let some of their licenses expire again in 2023), will likely keep Online vehicles & weapons out of the campaign, and probably won't bother to make any gameplay refinements. From what they've shown, Rockstar is trying to sell us a glorified next-gen patch (4K and 60 fps, assuming they even bother with the latter) for $70 without giving PS4 or Xbox One owners the courtesy of a discount.

There's some very slight chance that they haven't shown actual (or finished) PS5 footage like they did with the first trailer, but what incompetent morons would do that when dealing with Sony? They're either completely phoning this "remaster" in, or losing Benzie and the Housers hit them harder than we thought.

I wish Volition didn't shit themselves last month, Rockstar needs someone to kick them in the ass for GTA VI's sake.

Here's a side-by-side of the E&E trailer with shots recreated from the PC version "with medium to max settings." You be the judge of which version looks "best."

That "yellow license plate" I'm seeing appears to be botched lighting. Other than that, I see virtually no difference between the two. All those "effects" you may see were likely added in post.

All I can see is more smoke but worse draw distance in E&E?

Then agian, I haven't been able to notice many graphical differences since last Gen, since all it ever seems to be is particle effects, lighting and resolution which doesn't mean shit to me.

They BETTER not charge $70 for this "upgrade," although given Take Two, it's likely. Has pricing been confirmed?

I wonder how much hoops will fanniggers go through to justify rockstar and t2 being shit towards their consumers and a general malign cancer on the industry.

um, isn't fair use a "relative thing" according to it's own wikipedia?
oh and by the way, someone should remind these guys that T2 has money to fight them in court against the myriad of interpretations on what Fair Use means, they are using it as deterrent too.

I don't know man, a bunch of people on Reddit and YouTube have given Rockstar plenty of shit over this "remaster". The "remaster" will probably sell like crack since it's GTA V, but Rockstar's fanbase is getting tired of them coasting on the game so blatantly.

For all the memes about Skyrim's many rereleases, at least Bethesda has been keeping busy with Fallout and a new IP since 2011. I'm genuinely struggling to think about what Rockstar has been doing in the three years since Red Dead Redemption 2 other than more greedy Online updates, this "remaster", and struggling to get GTA VI off the ground (be it incompetence or wanting to milk GTA V even longer).

The problem is Rockstar/Take Two have seemed to figure out if you hold out long enough, kids who couldn't play it before will get old enough to start playing it and stealing their moms credit cards to buy flying bikes.
