At this rate, let's pray for a crash. It'd be necessary at this rate.
It won't happen and even if it did, people overestimate it's consequences.
It won't happen because:
- Industry is too big to fail at this point. It's outgrowing every other form of entertainment, and the bergsteins have already invested their chosenite gold into it. AAA giants have a better chance than Hollywood of getting government bailouts.
- People are too addicted to stop consooming. The 83 crash happened because parents told their kids "lol fuck off" at the idea of spending $50 every now and then for pew-pew on the telly, and older people had better impulse control after getting shafted multiple times by shoddy developers.
Today, that doesn't exist. People young and old have to have their vidya fix, no matter how bad or mediocre the product is. These products are their defining personality trait and the center of their lifestyles.
For some, they've replaced the black holes in their souls with it. Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft aren't companies, they're religions.
- Then there's all the retards who buy cosmetics/microtransactions from mobile and/freemium games to the tune of billions. Imbeciles who have no brain matter and drop thousands on DOTA/COD/Apex skins or whatever Genshin Impact sells. Crash? What crash?
Even if it happens, who cares?
The crash of 83 only affected the US and was only felt on 2nd gen consoles. Japan never had a crash and the PC software market in the US suffered no ill fate either.
The rot is here to stay.
The fact a company like GSG exists and even profits alone proves it. Vidya customers are the easiest crowd to swindle and steal from. They even cheer you on as a hero as you do it.

Holy fucking shit, there's a lot to do for 100% in that game.
I'm beginning to have second thoughts.
Not really. When I was a broke college kid I 100%'d SA several times.
It can be done in a month at a leisurely pace. GLHF.
