I miss the days of early GTA Online when you were just some random street thug doing simple missions, races, and death matches.. Now we're all suppose to be hot shot billionaires with a personal fleet of military vehicles, flying cars and dipping our toes into every criminal act we can think of.B
Back when tanks and jets were the only destructive vehicles now theres neon color tanks, flying motorcycle with missles, flying cars with missles, and laser cannon in the sky. Feels bad.

Remember when the Rhino and Hydra would be the endgame and OP? Now they're barely viable with all the additional toys.

Heists was the peak of GTA Online, Lowriders was the beginning of the end.

GTA III originally planned to have a multiplayer mode on PC.

Jesus, the absolute state of the industry is despairing.

The absolute state of gamers too. Between the retards I dealt with playing GTA Online and the retards I currently deal with playing CoD. I know I sound like a boomer but holy shit kids are fucking retarded today.

Don't think so, but I hadn't even heard of American Fugitive so maybe I'm just not paying attention.

I'm actually starting to lose faith in GTA VI. I always assumed that the main script must have been written so Dan departing wouldn't mean too much, but now I'm starting to think that he was going full hog on RDR2. And if GTA Online's characters and "writing" is anything to go on. we are in for some rough shit.
good, be like me; I stopped caring about next GTA already

anyway, I wouldn't be shocked when at some point buying Enhanced "and Expanded" Edition (or standalone GTAO) will be mandatory to continue playing MP on PC :story:

I was browsing through GTAForums and my eyes gazed upon this:

Analysis of the cut zombie mode from GTA IV: Z Resurrection. I know Saints Row 2 had a zombie mode, I think Zombie Uprising.

One of the icons incorporated with this mode was a revolver.

GTA IV had concept for a revolver. That may have been related to that.

I know it's old hat, but my lord, I want a GTA game set in Carcer City, the city from Manhunt. I miss that old rat infested shithole, where everyone was just as insane as me.
that sentence alone makes it sound like the whole "reality is stranger than fiction" problem could've easily been solved

I would like a new Manhunt.

Say they do Vice City for VI, what's next for GTA?

Not going to lie, they had me for a second.

Took me some time to find, but reading through this thread recently I've been thinking about this 2008 interview with Dan Houser.

Dan Houser said:
We’re hopefully going to prove that there’s also a very big audience for people who want entertainment in another form, who think of games as being a narrative device that can challenge movies...We always said: We’re not going release a large number of games. They’re going to have the production values of movies. They’re gonna be about themes that interest us whatever the medium, instead of the weird, special video game–only themes that too many people make — orcs and elves, or monsters, or space. We felt you could make a good game and have it be about something we could actually relate to. Or aspire to.

I don't think GTA has ever been further from that aspiration than this GTA Online shit. It's nothing but "weird, special video game–only themes."

I'd quit, too.

So i've been getting the hang of Online lately, bought a clubhouse, set up a business for counterfeit cash, got a nightclub, money's rolling in slowly but surely...

I was grinding for supplies when this thought hit me: Is there an end goal for all of this?

Im grinding missions, dealing with griefers and all that fun shit so the businesses can be upgraded, but to what end? To get more money for even more upgrades?

Not really interested in the multiplayer content, when i first got into GTAO i came with the mindset of roleplaying, or sometimes playing with friends even though none of my boys have the damn game (fucking billion units sold day 1 and they happen to be the few guys that didnt get it)

What's the endgame for Online? Is it something a solo minded player would enjoy?

There is no endgame.

While GTA Online used to be about doing online content to have fun and maybe earn a bit of money, now it's all about earning that dosh. Grind content to have more money for future content... Or just give us some of your actually money for the cash needed to start new content. They really like pushing old content by pushing money and RP multipliers on stuff no one plays anymore just to get people to do that.

That's why RockStar can give away online content for free.. Either you waste hours or days playing their game to earn what you need or you just pay out of your own personal pocket. Every new purchasable thing is always at least a million, with tons of customization options to make sure to eat as much of your money as possible and put up as many roadblocks as they can so you'd even consider buying a Shark Card.

There's basically two endgames.

1. To own everything.

2. To fuck everyone trying to own everything over.

That's it. I wouldn't mind it so much but they've literally been recycling the same fucking content since 2016. Every fucking business is the same damn thing. And the one good thing that they started to release (heists) is starting to look to go down the same exact path.

People can say what they want about how GTA has always been about going from point a to point b, but holy shit I never realized just how important storyline and set pieces actually make it fun until they were taken away from the experience with Finance and Felony/Bikers/Gunrunning/Smugglers Run/After Hours.
