R* is taking the Destiny 2 approach and removing game modes from rotation.

This affects one achievement/trophy, Numero Uno. It also affects the PS3/Xbox 360 versions. Parachuting and sea races will be taken out of rotation.

First a song, now game modes. "Expanded and enhanced" my ass. I didn't even know GTA Online had parachuting. And as an aside, bounties were long removed from the last gen version because of hacking. How long until the PC version gets affected?
This is why I don't play anything that has a major online component attached to it. It's also why I buy physical because you can then easily revert everything back to how it was.

To be fair, they are shutting the online down on them in like two months so no big loss there.

Parachuting has been lame since day one. I'm surprised they didn't remove it sooner. Sea Races is rather odd though, unless just absolutely nobody plays them.

But if that were the case, why haven't they taken out most of the modes? Has it changed much in 2-3 years? I always remember nobody playing anything but races and deathmatches unless there was 2x money on a particular game mode.
At the least, retroactively change the achievements for it. But, R* should had never added all those modes at once anyway.

Agreed, but I have to figure Rockstar thinks if people haven't gotten the achievement within 8 years they were never going to do it.

I dunno, it's dumb I guess I just don't expect even the bare minimum from Rockstar anymore.

Well, they never changed the bounty achievement for last-gen so yeah.

I hope Arena War gets the axe. Literally nobody played that, even during launch.

I'm gonna facepalm if Rockstar is going to keep the same list for the "remaster".

Can you imagine how lazy it would be of them to have an unfinishable list for day one?

The fact that GTA V’s remastered edition for the PS5 would remove the one song that I overly enjoyed listening to when not playing the game makes no sense.

It would be like if they removed Neon Indian’s “Change of Coast” from their GTA Online menu.
Same, here. It was one of my favorites.
I haven't played GTA V in months, but this sure as hell makes it even less likely to pick up where I left off.
Maybe I'll just stick with FiveM or pop in a copy of San Andreas on PC whenever I need a GTA fix.

I wish 4 had VCS style property. I mean the whole game is about how you need money so IDK why they didn't in the first place.

Niko is an immigrant venturing into Liberty City to escape his past with his cousin and to enact revenge. It wouldn't make sense for Niko to come into America to be a businessman. Money is a means to an end for Niko, not to be rich.

People act like the wait for GTA VI is insane but it’s not even been 3 years since the release of RDR2 which had all of Rockstar working on it.
I still have no idea why people don't understand that.

Yeah, it's been eight years since GTA V came out, but it's not like Rockstar was doing nothing for that entire time. Their constant whoring out of it, and it's online mode is fucking annoying, but the fact that there's still not a GTA VI yet is completely understandable.

It's not the wait per se, it's their business philosophy changing after V. In the seventh generation, they had other games in the pipeline. Table Tennis, Midnight Club LA, Bully, IV, L.A. Noire, Max Payne 3. For the eighth generation, there's only two games and they're milking the hell out of one.

But RDR2 had all of there studios working on it. it’s physically impossible for them to release anything else. i think people would rather have a game like RDR2 than more Midnight Club.

I think it was mentioned before in this thread or the RDR one, but the story of RDR2 does eerily reflect the changing policies of Rockstar as a whole. Always needing more money despite having more than enough to do what you need to do, suddenly becoming obsolete in a rabidly changing world, being told to have faith and stay loyal even though the decisions made always lead to disaster, etc.

Having said that, Rockstar games have always been expensive, and incredibly detailed, so the long wait time between them makes a lot of sense, but their new business practices are a cause for concern.
