So just to clarify shit: if I buy the physical version of GTA Trilogy, I won't be able to play ANY of the games. The cartridge will come with incomplete versions of 3 and SA and NONE of Vice City. I'll have to download the bulk of 3 and SA online just to play them and all of Vice City and even then, have to splurge on a memory card so that they don't hog the entire HD space on my Switch as far as having to set up my Switch to download them straight to the memory card?

I can understand San Andreas, but why piecemeal 3 and Vice City? Sounds like bad optimization.

You had a Ma like Toni, you'd be depressed too.

The Triads think they can mess with me. The Triads, with ME!
Reading it in his voice makes it ten times funnier, and I’m sitting here like Claude just silently pondering how I’m still playing LCS after all these years.

They should have done “San Andreas Stories.” Why give the other two games that treatment alone? Even just something like “Las Venturas Stories.”

I would have loved playing the State World in a late 80s setting.

They did that with The Introduction. A R* created project bridging the gaps between 3 and VC.

?

The Introduction? Of what? Is this something obscure separate, or do you simply mean the introduction of the San Andreas game?

There were rumors of a third stories game being in early development but getting shelved because of the impending release of GTA IV.

IIRC, Rockstar reps even talked about how their compression tech was so refined they could fit all of San Andreas on a UMD or something, which made no fucking sense because they never released anything that big on PSP I think.

That answer always smelled like bullshit to me.

The PSP GTA games were great, but Rockstar is implying they were essential lore expansions that finally bridged an incomplete narrative instead of of fun GTA side stories that you can play on the go. Nobody was thinking "I wonder what the backstory of that guy who got shot at the start of Vice City was..."

If anyone wanted San Andreas Stories it would have been because they wanted to play San Andreas on the go, not because they wanted to know more about how Vice City led into San Andreas. This is clearly just them using a promotional tool they created previously as an excuse to get people to stop begging them for a game they couldn't make for technical reasons and/or the PSP's shrinking relevance.

Hah, last night I got to my favorite characters in the 3D era, Paul and Maccer.

Aka, those British guys who keep coming off more like Australian.

Fifteen years ago, I was certain these guys were actually Australian based on their accents not being like mine (Colonial Caribbean British-like) and believed my headcanon so hard that I was imagining maps of Australia in their office, references to kangaroos and wallabies, and even insisting just the way they dressed was how you stereotypically see Australian people.

No matter how many times I play San Andreas I always get a hearty laugh out of Paul and Maccer's dialogue.

They bounce off of each other so well and I wish they found a way to utilize them more in other games, could've easily used their band as a way of explaining how they travel around.

England has many regional accents, Maccer is from the north west which is why he doesn’t speak the Queen’s English.

I understand it better now. I’ve just never been to England in my life. I can speak a British accent due to being from a colonial country, but all I knew was Queens.
