11 days until GTA V II: The Quest for Curly's Gold. R* is being hush-hush with pricing so expect the worst.
Physical versions won't come out until mid-March or April. Let me guess, COVID?

Expect a $60 price tag and lower player counts.

The lack of gameplay eerily reminds me of the run up to the GTA Trilogy's release...

Oh shit I completely forgot about the next gen versions.

I'd say the salt when there's no new content and it's just higher res and framerate would be great, but console retards will eat up what PC players have had for the past 7 years like they've been starving.

GTA V remaster for the PS5 will be much like what GTA: San Andreas was remastered for the XBOX 360 and the PS3. Only real difference is that the generational consoles are different.

Plus, since I played GTA V on the PS4, they already did more updates where they removed some of the songs from the in-game radio stations, while GTA Online is just more interested in making celebrity cameos with plot scenes that have nothing much to do with the game overall.

Remember the SA remaster was done my War Drum (Grove Street Games). While I don't think NuGTA V is gonna be anything special, I also don't think it'll be GSG tier either.

I don't think that's true, i'm sure that Vice City and San andreas appear in one of the early 2d titles.
True, but GTA1 had a smaller audience. Wouldn't make sense to reference a niche game from five years ago.

Still a good easter egg. I remember everyone was stoked for a San Andreas game when VC was announced.

GTA 4 fanbase ever since the "definitive edition" came out

I used to clamor for a remaster of GTA IV as it was my first GTA game, but now I'm apprehensive for how Rockstar would handle it.

III, Vice City, and San Andreas are legendary titles that defined the PS2 era, yet they were content to let them be butchered while continuing to milk GTA Online in leu of making GTA VI. If they were fine with letting such beloved titles get treated so poorly, I don't want to imagine how they'll treat a relatively divisive title like GTA IV.

The problems go beyond of it being a shitty remaster port, in a way, we had those already. But the problem is that Rockstar went the extra mile to make sure we wouldnt have any choice in the matter but to PLAY THESE PORTS by removing the stand alone games on steam and other stores.

They "kind" of gave up when they added them back...on their own launcher. Its like Rockstar accepted defeat only on their own terms.

After all this shit show, GTA 4 would much rather their game fade from Rockstar's radar instead of being violated like 3, VC and SA were.

You remember how they handled GTA IV's tenth year anniversary? They REMOVED songs from the original+EFLC through an update. It's a trend now to remove multiplayer with remasters (i.e. Uncharted, Mass Effect, Bioshock.) If they did a remaster of IV, they'd likely remove multiplayer and just upscale the resolution.

I'd figured they would use GTA V's engine as a foundation. So all those physics and mechanics would be gone.

TLAD's soundtrack in particular got butchered, all because Rockstar was too cheap to use GTA Online revenue to renew licenses.

The last time I played GTA IV was in early 2018 before its anniversary, I'm hesitant to play it now in light of how many songs got cut.

This is why we get hard copies of our shit, or steal it from English trading ships.

I need to worry about better games, might pick up Elden Ring (Should I do PC or XSX?) or replay Yakuza. Anyway, prices leaked and the games are going to be 50% off for the first 3 months.

Normal price: $20 for Online and $40 for full game.
With sale: $10 for Online and $20 for full game.
PS users get Online free for first 3 months and have and I believe the full game is even cheaper for them.

Oh and get this, if you only buy Online you still have to download the entire game.
