I hate nu-rockstar as much as the next well adjusted gamer autist but tbf I think it's pretty stupid people were expecting too much from this. I had one guy on normiebook tell me what a fucking retard I am because "it has an all new engine it should be so much better" despite the fact it still uses the same RAGE engine lol.
Sure it could be argued that they could have done more to polish - after all, there are mods for PC that make it near photorealistic. But that's an extremely unreasonable thing to even think they'd do for many reasons, not the least of which is because they're trying to do a more uniform experience for the consoles and the series s just doesn't have the juice to do the same shit as the x or PS5 and it's not just a matter of swapping out texture packs.
Sure it could be argued they could have added more content, but considering 50% of the "content" they've added since the release of Heists has been garbage shit targeted toward the type of people who think 90s rap and fast&furious movies are a way of life, I'm fine with just a few cars.
As for the pricing, I don't really care too much lol I get GTA O for free and get to laugh at Microsoft plebs. It is kinda hilarious that some great and new games like Subnautica got a free upgrade while a 9 year old game like GTA V still has people paying for it, but eh.

You'd be right if this was just a free update like the vast majority of next gen updates.
They're charging money for this though, unless you're one of the suckers who paid out the ass for a scalped PS5. But hey, console wars are great so lol @ those who didn't.

That's still Rockstar's fault for not being clear about what "Expanded & Enhanced" was, especially when they barely showed gameplay as if it was a new game (didn't help that they delayed the game for 4 months, which baffles me given how little has changed). The game's almost 9 years old, the only reason to be so secretive was if it was either busted like the GTA Trilogy or barely improved compared to the Xbox One & PS4 versions.
Moreover, I think a lot of the disappointment can be traced back to Rockstar coasting on the game for a third generation in a row. especially given how they refuse to do anything with Red Dead Redemption 2 these days (don't tell that it's "too old" for a next gen update when a 2017 Resident Evil game's getting one). How much longer can we expect Rockstar to milk this game before they "grace us" with GTA VI?

Noticed how after the first reveal trailer, they stopped using "expanded and enhanced" for this re-release. There's no reason why these "extra features" could not had been an update for existing members.
There was more reason to repurchase GTA V from 360/PS3 to PS4/XB1/PC. First person perspective, improved draw distance, expanded multiplayer, the improved horsepower allowed them to rebuild GTA V from the ground up. Still miffed about no story DLC, but whatever.
This port has no reason to release the way it did. All of this could've been a FREE UPDATE, but no, they had to double dip for easy sales.

But unironically though, imagine playing GTAV on a last gen console and complaining it doesn't look anywhere like it's running on a 10000$ PC.
First things first, game was made with PC in mind, so of course you will get a toned down, uglier looking version for your last gen console. Your shitty console can't run it at constant framerate max settings without setting your room on fire.
Secondly, the game was made for PC and meant for PC. You're not playing GTAV on PS, you get a glimpse on what GTAV would play like.
Lastly, you're paying 10$ a month for the multiplayer you get on PC for free. On top of paying 300$ on what is effectively a mid-range last-gen CPU who can't do the basic functions of a CPU. You're asking to get scammed, buddy.
