Well, saying it NOW, GTA III isn't THAT hard if you know the game inside and out.

Can you fly the Dodo?

Like, I can fly it across the river to Staunton. But I was never enough of a faggot to do more than that because I just never found it fun.

I could probably pick it up within an hour I assume.

Holy fuck I just noticed in the Expanded and Enhanced version they removed the trannies from the club Cockatoos next to the vinewood LSC :story:
I always enjoyed driving by that place in a tank and 41%ing some troons so I went to it and they're replaced with regular NPC models, not a troon in sight. Booted up the old PS4 version and bam, troons galore.

Amazing, they actually removed content from the campaign for this "remaster". I miss the Rockstar that valued its campaigns...

You should tell Kokatu about that piece of intriguing information.

"Rockstar wants to silence trans voices by removing them from their game"

Edit: Send them this and they'll take the bait

The Exchange pissed me off since I lost all my weapons, I had a bunch of M4 and rocket ammo stocked for nothing.
I recently 100%'d GTA 3, what I did for The Exchange was bring a Banshee to the mission start, sprint out and grab it, and speed down to the safehouse off the cliff. With all packages collected I just grabbed a whole new arsenal and got in the tank I stored in the garage (Pushed it from Phil's Depot after his mission where its locked to a garage and it unlocked it, then drove it to the Import/Export list site, finishing it) and went to town on the Cartel. Ram and blast as many with the tank and get out to hose the rest down with the OP M16 or the rocket launcher, made the mission so much easier lmao.

Also I completely forgot Catalina's chopper swoops in and carpet bombs you, scared the fuck out of me.

Congratulations!

What would you say was the most tedious part of 100%'ing GTA III? I betcha it's the Ambulance side missions.
You're correct, Ambulance was easily the worst. I did it in Portland before the Mafia became hostile, and it was straight trash. The ambulance has surprisingly low health so it easily starts smoking, the siren causes traffic AI to wonk out and they'll just drive in front of you half the time, or even drive over the patient you're trying to pick up and stop on them until you turn the siren off. I also accidentally backed into some old lady I was picking up on level 11 out of 12, killing her and failing the mission. Rest of the side stuff was actually easy, even the off-road stuff wasn't so bad.

Packages were the second worst, they're certainly time consuming and tedious, but they were very easy, except for the 100th package, the lift bridge one. That bridge is stuck lifted in the air until after Grand Theft Aero for Donald Love when Shoreside Vale gets unlocked, but I decided to head to the airport (jumped the broken Callahan bridge at the beginning of the game and went through the subway tunnel to Shoreside) and grabbed the Dodo, had to learn how to fly it which is insanely hard and even then it still spazzes out on its own and shoots straight down, and landed it on top of the lift bridge. Well worth doing this at the beginning of the game, having infinite M16 ammo and rockets makes the game so much more fun (and easier).

That happens a lot, under no fault of the player. Even worse is that the game does not account for distance with time. It'll give you 30 seconds to pick up a patient, only to have it spawn halfway across the map to barely reach them or the hospital.

I'm glad they removed that side mission in IV/V.

From what I recall, the Paramedic side mission isn't too bad in VC/SA; the ambulance is somewhat durable, you get extra time based on how far away the patient is from the hospital, the siren works a lot better IIRC, and while it is possible to tip the ambulance over, it never really does that if you don't go ham on the accelerator while cornering.
It is still quite tedious however, but so are the Vigilante and Taxi Driver missions.

I dread both that helicopter mission and the dreaded train mission.
The train isn't so bad if you concentrate on the road, and not the Vagos henchmen.

For my money, "Local Liquor Store" is worse. You have to chase down 4 people on quad bikes. I thought Catalina was a great character, but it's a bitch to drive across the whole countryside because you careened off a cliff and shit.

I don't understand how "Driving School" and Zero's shop are harder missions than the ones involving Triads.

For the quad bike mission, you can just drive-by the guys yourself or, if the quad is capable of that, shoot straight in front as you get really close so the spray doesn't hit their bikes.

I don't know where this meme of vehicle control missions being hardest came from, same with Demolition Man in Vice City. Maybe it was a first introduction to awkward camera angles and precise movement in 3D on a controller for a lot of kids, but there couldn't have been that many of them. Driving school is a pain in the ass to get gold medals in though, mostly because of the parallel parking challenge.

I stopped to start Sekiro, but I plan on going back to beat III. Then it's onto Vice City and San Andreas. I dread both that helicopter (?) mission and the dreaded train mission.
Aren't the Souls games infamous for clunky controls? If you beat that, every mission in GTA should be a walk in the park.

It can be hard to steer snd shoot, which is why a Sanchez is preferred. You'd need to park it nearby before the mission starts.

the dreaded train mission.
This is the method I always use for WSOTT, just find an SMG pickup around the map (use a map) and it's an easy pass.

Also for the quad bike dudes in the robbery mission, you can use a rifle to snipe them at a certain point from a distance, or look up other speedrun methods. That mission was easily one of the worst for me when I first played on PS2, Catalina is a malignant cunt.
