Late, but I feel like the GTA+ bullshit is just them testing the waters for doing it in their next online. No way they're braindead enough to think anyone would waste money in this dead ass game.

I know people play it, but as others here have pointed out, after Cayo, you can literally get whatever you want in the span of a day, solo. You don't even need friends to exploit shit like back in the day with Doomsday.
You have completely underestimated the amount of braindead people that play GTA online that are more than willing to cough up 6 bucks a month for "free items". I also have a strong suspicion they're eventually going to nerf Cayo Perico in some way and I'm 100% sure there's eventually going to be an exclusive car or something only available to GTA+ members.

Maybe I'm the minority, but I never saw the appeal of racing in GTA. Races would either be piss easy or hard as nails because of mechanics. Looking at you, Turismo and The Driver.

I mean, this argument could be made about pretty much everything in GTA. It's meant to be an open world so you should be able to do a lot of stuff but it comes at a price.

It's not like GTA V's shooting is better than Max Payne 3's. It's not like the flying is better than Ace Combat.

I would say GTA IV's driving is the closest to GTA racing being sim like.

Yeah, but that's why everyone hated it. Nobody looks at GTA and thinks they should get a sim. They're expecting more arcade style.
What, you DON'T like mopping the floor or operating a crane for heist prep?

This is why I get confused when people give me shit for saying the 3D era was better than the HD era.

Like, if GTA Online didn't have such copy/paste mission structure for the past 6 years I'd probably say it was the best simply for focusing on gameplay over that shit.

It should also be telling that what finally got me to uninstall it was having to watch a 20 something minute long cutscene of a bunch of zoomer assholes before I even got to Cayo Parico

Can they please stop fucking padding out every activity in GTAO.
Oh no wait they can't, because the grind's annoyance literally drives you to wanting to buy shark cards to circumvent having to do tedious tasks.
Also, unskippable cutscenes that are cringe? no need for that, thanks Rockstar.
The big empty world for RDR and GTA are cool, but the actual shooting on foot gameplay is garbage, especially in GTAV.
I'm sick of there being minimal cover, few interiors to fight in, and no way to crouch in GTAV. It's all so tiresome.

Explain the lore. Is it set in the near future? The turn of the millennium? Or it doesn't matter?
It doesn't matter. The game manual said "three weeks in the future", but images from the film had 2013 dates IIRC.

Most of the vehicle models appear to be from the 1960's and earlier, meanwhile the radio mentions current events from 1999 including the Y2K bug and weapons skew towards the futuristic.

Want even more weirdness? The protagonist of GTA 2 was Claude Speed, and he looked like Niko Bellic (outside of the GTA2 movie, of course)

Okay, so either big news or just more smoke being blown in the wind.

I randomly went to DuckDuckGo to search for “grand theft auto 6”, and apparently this came up:

Now, I initially thought this was a prank, but then I searched up the news results for this. CBR of all places just posted this five hours ago:

Again, it’s probably just a bunch of nothing, but the more I read this, I do think this would be a heck of a different scenario than us thinking it would be copying the GTA V formula and adding three female protagonists.

To add on to that, Twitch streamer xQc already played GTA 6 and claims it’s in its final stages of development:

Only thing I can really get out of this “story” is that Rockstar will be relying more and more on Twitch streamers and (possibly) TikTok stars to market their game in mysterious ways.

It might not be a new thing, but it will be something to use for marketability since the Apex Legends and Fortnite Generation are running the gaming scene in the years to come.

90s 3D. What a time.

I always thought of GTA2 taking place in alternative America.

"There's always a cop around except when you NEED one!" Something like that.

and don't bother about next GTA as well, because it will suck cocks
Even before the little details they've said about what they intend to do with the next one, I already wrote it off with how just monumentally shitty V has been overall. A shitty copy of a Michael Mann film, boring radio station music, shitty characters, boring giant map, and less interactivity AGAIN compared to San Andreas with character customization. And let's not forget, they've been milking that fucker for nearly a solid decade now. Rockstar is just another jewed out, formerly excellent gaming developer now.

It's funny how elitist GTA fans would shit on Saints Row with it's ridiculous weapons and vehicles, turn into Oppressor griefers. I think the series really died with the last game, and going woke is just raping it's corpse.

While I didn't play the GTA4 spinoffs, I did appreciate the base game a lot as it really captured what a northeast city felt like and it's atmosphere felt real and relatable. Not to mention the driving physics didn't hold your hand and took skill to get good at. Whiners bitched that the roads felt like butter, but love that V keeps the cars glued to the road.
