Oops, meant to say Vice City Stories

Although I do recall Tony being whiney in LCS still. Might have just been the voice actor though it's been forever since I played it.
Well yeah, Victor Vance is beta-test Niko Bellic. Hell, their stories, journey, and outcomes are very similar.

Tony's whiney but has more legitimate gripes IMO. While Vic and Niko whine about self-inflicted wounds and how the people around them keep fucking them over they sure don't do anything to keep a distance from them, whereas Tony's gripes are about his boss being a narcissist retard who's pride causes Tony to pay the price for it and ends up screwed out of a couple million for his troubles. You swear fealty and prove it and all you get is a "good boy" for it? Tony's not my favorite by any means (Vic is) but he got screwed the worst after Tommy and Claude.

Tbf I'd be bitching about my life too if my brother was Lance
Maybe, but he was a far better laugh than Roman was.

Nobody really gives a shit about Gamescom, huh? Apparently random GTA VI guy bum rushed the stage to ask where it was. Mors Mutual isn't just giving me GTA news now but regular gaming news since I didn't see this anywhere...

With him mentioning Bill Clinton, I have to wonder if Geoff is afraid of this becoming a common thing with him now.
Because nothing really happens in Gamescon or most other gaming events

I'm playing Grand Theft Auto III and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Only one mission was really difficult for me which was "Gripped!". There was one checkpoint that I had a hard time at getting without falling off the side. The few moments when I did get the checkpoint successfully I would choke. I was so happy when I completed the mission. Right now, I'm finishing up all the side-stuff like the Import-Export vehicles before moving onto and finishing the story missions.

Since we don't have a dedicated "shitting on Rockstar" thread, and Vadim M mainly focuses on GTA, I'll post this here:
After 13 years, a few people managed to figure out a little mystery about the Steam release of Manhunt. As it turns out, it's not a "bad port" with weird bugs.

What happened is that R* got caught using a MYTH crack on the Steam release of Max Payne 2, and it was a massive PR disaster. They've ended up renaming the cracked .exe to "testapp.exe" and then adding a proper .exe and pushing that out on Steam.

However they did the same thing for Manhunt, but even more haphazardly, which led to them pushing out a broken .exe, where there was no SecuROM, but there were all of R*'s antipiracy measures, all active at once.

And yes, they've left out the "testapp.exe" file too, and the only issue with that one was that Razor1911 added a signature on the very bytes of the executable that Microsoft would use for DEP in Vista years later, which led to it not working on anything newer than XP only because of two bytes. Even the guy that made the Steam patcher wasn't aware of it.

And the funniest part? All those cruel measures R* worked so hard on that they've forced onto paying customers that they've made to make damn sure that those pesky pirates would have a hard time cracking?

The pirates never saw them. Razor1911 cracked that shit in three days, and in a way where they've never touched those measures, because they did it the proper way and made the game think that it was legit, thus never activating them.

This story has so many levels of irony it's just hilarious. R* was too lazy to do a proper unprotected .exe for Steam, so they stole a Scene crack, but when they got caught redhanded on doing the same on another game, they fucked up and sent an .exe with all the bullshit anti-piracy measures they've made themselves active for paying customers while still keeping the old crack with a debug name in the game files they've pushed to Steam Depot, but because the OG crack never activated them in the first place, and only now actual paying customers got to experience them for the first time over this mishap, everyone just assumed it was a broken port for over a decade.

And now it's clear. Rockstar is ran by braindead retards. :story:

I can't quote but to go off of @Slav Power post, this is more proof of the reason they never brought RDR1 to PC was because they are just that incompetent. That line of "well, the code of the game was spaghetti it's a miracle it was done" never sat right with me. Unless your game was made on ancient hardware it shouldn't be that hard. If modders can do it, then there's no reason they can't.

Try to stop pirates, paying customers get fucked over, while pirates get the best version of a game. A tale as old as time.

I just experienced that sort of crap last week
I own GTA4 and LA Noire on Steam, RDR2 and GTA5 on Epic
RGL runned without problem until recently, it started having "failed to initialize" error
I contacted to Rockstar Support and any of the "solutions" they had sent to me did not work
So I had to figure shits out by myself.
The real solution is to add Rockstar Games Launcher on steam by using its non steam game library thing and run it with administrator
So I have to launch steam even if I wanna play games on Epic
Thanks for making things complicated Rockstar

I had similar shit happen years ago with the Rockstar launcher, though it's been too long to remember the details. Honestly, fuck any dev/publisher who makes their own launcher and puts even more layers of bullshit between a customer and playing the game. Every time somebody like 2K or Paradox throws one of these out, I have to spend time bugfixing shit just to run games that worked fine the day before. All so they can throw ads at you or harvest data metrics.

Not GTA but switch port of RDR1 runs very well on switch emulator
Now why tf Rockstar doesn't port rdr1 to pc?

Does the Switch RDR1 require you to download the entire game or some bullshit where you have to "stream" the game onto your switch via an always on internet connection?

It's a native port not some cloud gaming shit
Which means that the game runs on the console directly

Make sure you do all Portland side activities (especially ambulance and firefighter missions) before going to Staunton Island...going back to do them with hostile shotgun armed mobsters spawning everywhere is near impossible

it's a bs excuse for not wanting to spending the money to unfuck and port it properly. it's similar to when devs cry"you don't get it's haaaaaaaard" - nigga I don't care, it's your fucking job. if you can't or don't want to do it gtfo.

I get it from a business perspective, but there's nothing that would prevent them from saying "we don't see a port as feasible" and that's it. no need to make up retarded shit for redditors to fall for, which is what I have the real issue with.

I made sure to do the ambulance and firefighter missions in Portland at the beginning of the game. I could see why people recommend it because having the Diablos, Triads, and Mafia hostile to you would make those missions almost impossible to accomplish. I managed to 100% the game and now I'm playing Vice City.

Its been almost two years since the GTA: Definitive Edition — The Trilogy came out, and only a few things changed, yet everything (bugs, glitches, warped areas, etc.) still remains the same.
INTER is a fucking retard, his videos are either AI generated fake news or horrific recordings of what happens when you install 500 mods and run them at the same time

What’s funny is that I just now realized that I linked the wrong video because I was excited about Switch remastered games coming out in the future prior to this.

This was the video I meant to post:

My apologies on that, but my thoughts after that post still stand true.

My post was deleted due to the database error, but just want to say happy 10th anniversary to GTA V.

Even if GTA Online was a mistake, it’s still an influential and record breaking game that transcended and changed the culture as we know it.

Agreed.... I still haven't actually beaten the story yet but what I've played plus online (when the heist team isn't retarded) is some of the most fun I've had gaming in a long time.

Amazing that's it's been 10 YEARS since a new GTA has come out. I honestly thought 6 would have dropped in 2018 or so but now it's looking like 6 will happen no earlier then fall 2024.

I'm just concerned that in the intervening 11-12 years Rockstar may have lost the ability to make a fun satire of the USA or have any kind of slightly edgy humor..... let's see.
