Taking bets it would be a teaser trailer with the title revel being central. I don't expect gaming footage. If there is the title would be more of the focus.
They'd be absolutely insane not to have in game footage. So you're probably right.

The biggest red flag I see is how little hype they're doing for this. GTA IV had a countdown timer that lasted for like a month. And only 2 1/2 years passed between San Andreas and that trailer coming out.

This has been a 10 year fucking wait, and Rockstar just casually says "yeah, we'll have a trailer in December" and then just posts a picture with the date.

It's so....underwhelming.

This game may as well be Half Life 3 in terms of expectation building. Even if it's good, it's never going to be what people hope it could be.
What ARE people expecting from GTA 6? Likely the same online experience they paid for with GTA Online. People were divisive with GTA 4's direction as a GTA game; GTA 5 went the other way to compensate. It arguably performed better than IV; although that's not accounting how the video game industry changed over time.

I wouldn't say ten years, unless people were already anticipating the next GTA as soon as V came out. I'd say five, six years to be generous. This doesn't invalidate your point that people were waiting a long time for the next GTA. Or any game from R* really.

What ARE people expecting from GTA 6?
I mean, I'm not expecting anything at this point tbqh

But because it's in Vice City, me from 10 years ago would have expected some kind of smuggling aspect. Even if it's not in the 80's just the reputation alone would have been enough for me to expect that.

But now? No fucking clue. I'm guessing they are going to double down on robbery and heists due to the leaks and the "Bonnie and Clyde" nature of everything, and I wouldn't hate that (I do love heists and my biggest complaint with GTA V was that there was too much focus on government bullshit heists) but at the same time is that all GTA is now?

I mean since the departure of Dan Houser its anyone's guess really. If I can make some assumptions, GTA 6 Online will be the main focus of R* and once released would feature more activities from the get go to further encourage micro transactions. I wouldn't be surprised really mainly due to the cash cow success of GTA Online.

I certainly hope the next iteration of GTA Online actually has some thought put into it

It's so fucking weird that the first thing they did was make you a billionaire CEO, only to have you continuously downgrade your businesses to the point that you're buying a junkyard now to sell more cars (which we were already doing in Import/Export tbqh)

What ARE people expecting from GTA 6?
Multiple protagonists like GTA5. Extremely linear missions. Do not deviate from the path by a pixel or 'Mission Failed'. Same mission type over and over where you drive to a location, shoot everyone and everything, then drive away. Even less side content in single player like races, golf, gun range. All single player side content will be removed for online only play. Tedious single player missions like yoga or shipping container stacking. Forgettable music. Day one DLC and micro-transactions. On rails sequences where the player has zero agency nor decision making. Politically correct gangsters. In game advertisements. Fortnite level cross promotions. Netflix show tie-in. And of course 10/10 review scores across the board. Early access for faggots on social media.

People have been anticipating the return to Vice City since the original came out though.

I have a feeling that GTA 6 will sell roleplay/private servers akin to Battlefield. There's no reason that R* would buy FiveM without profit.

Its GTA but with all the edges sanded off. All Bark, no Bite. No satire. Current year shit like #GurlBoss and minority representation. Shitting on white people whenever they can. Awful story. 1 dimensional characters. Short story mode. HEAVY focus on GTA Online. No replay value in single player mode.

I guess I expect the Saints Row remake, part 2.

A weird thought; but wouldn't a solution to the anti-life affecting GTA6 be to go back to a simple esoteric type GTA 3 game with elements from Resident Evil?

You pick between two different characters (a Hispanic woman who broke out of jail or a white guy who broke out of jail). Both are strangers to Vice City 2024 and the game heavily playing upon stealth and keeping a low profile and carrying out crimes for the local mob bosses while getting into the power politics of running said gangs. But to cancel out wokism complaints, you are required to play BOTH campaigns to get the final mission unlocked and what you do in one campaign directly affects your playthrough of the second campaign.

I'm wondering if Lazlow or Houser had input with its writing before they left. Or, R* went through changes with the script over time.

I'm expecting GTA 6 to incorporate elements from Red Dead 2, specifically holding weapons in their personal vehicles. I expect the driving to be similar to GTA V/3D GTAs.

There's been too many reports of a total "reboot" of the story for me to believe that anything meaningful from Houser remained tbqh

With Lazlow it's more up in the air with how everything ended I think.

I remember when people thought you'd have to stash your weapons in a duffle bag and carry them from car to car from watching the GTA IV trailers. Wonder if that could be the case in this one if they're going to try to incorporate the saddle system from RDR2.
