Kind of waiting for this game Samson, releases pretty soon. 3D brawlin'n drivin! (since you were talking about 3d brawlers and GTA-likes, although I doubt this will be the latter that much)

I get the feeling that it's small and focused enough to probably pull something off. Haven't done too much research but to my surprise it doesn't look awful.

Watching the trailer I got the feeling that this looked pretty similar to 2015's Mad Max and sure enough, the lot of the head devs are from Avalanche. That's just fine by me, I really liked Mad Max (and its semi sort of "sequel" with FPS/Doom 2016 combat instead of Batman/Arkham combat, Rage 2). Actually kind of look forward to it, a rarity these days, even if very tentatively. Though those two previous games were open world, but they're not too similar to GTA, as you say.

Went back for L.A. Noire after a few months, after finishing other games to get HD space.

On a blind playthrough, I find it pretty generous on the tips, even I, a retard, get like 70% of the right clues and questions.

Shame games like these are so rare. I like GTA V and RDR2, but open-world shooters are everywhere. Stuff like Bully, The Warriors, or Noire is special.

I may try to get the achievements on a second playthrough, since, unlike the GTA games or Max Payne 3, I may try to get all achievements one day.

I feel bad for people who can't just give shit up on a whim. San Andreas is my favorite game of all time, no contest. GTA is my favorite franchise ever. So many fond memories. But I'm not going to continue buying in when it's obvious that they're going in a questionable direction and all of the people who built the castle no longer live in it and maintain it and it's decaying. This isn't your dad's GTA, as the saying goes.

The biggest issue is that due to the Island system for containing the game world, any future GTA city would have to be a coastal city, at which point you're struggling to find any culturally relevant ones

Nobody cares about San Francisco or Seattle so you're totally wiped out on the West Coast though having a GTA in the Pacific Northwest sounds very exciting specifically being able to race around Puget Sound and the Olympic peninsula.

On the Gulf Coast outside of Florida you have Houston, New Orleans, Mobile and Space X

Houston is a soulless shithole where all the crime is petty bullshit as it doesn't even have gangs since all the native Houston gangs literally got genocided by the Feral Africanized New Orleans gangs after Katrina, which then proceeded to nigga moment themselves to extinction.

New Orleans is a completely worthless city in the modern era

Mobile is an irrelevant ghetto shithole.

Now you have the East Coast, between the Florida stateline and the Potomac all the major cities are located inland.

Your options left besides Miami and NYC is DC-Balitmore, or Boston

Then on the Great Lakes all you have is Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee, Toledo and Cleveland

That Special Edition of San Andreas came with a documentary about lowriders called Sunday Driver. Made in-house too.

Rockstar Games used to mean something. You buy a game with the Rockstar logo, you were guaranteed to get something unique, special, evolutionary, FUN made with painstakingly passion and love. Keep in mind that lowrider customization is just ONE feature of many introduced in San Andreas, you can tell that Rockstar Games wanted to do LA culture/history justice with their third GTA on PS2.
