Speaking of rare games, my memories of the game are very vague. In this one, you can't just go around beating up civilians because you are an undercover cop, isn't it?
True Crime series. Basically, there's a good/bad karma system that is dependent on "police work" from solving crimes in free roam. Handle them non-lethally (arrests, knockdowns), you get good karma points. End up killing civilians or preps, you lose good karma points. Do it too many times, you get the SWAT on you.

At least in Streets of LA and NYC.

It just dawned on me that if GTA VI ends up being a disappointment, it could also mean that GTA: Vice City Stories was in fact that real and true spinoff that truly existed.

I don’t see a lot of people talking about that game too much, except if you’re The Professional that is.

I agree but I always did want a follow up for Tommy Vercetti. I know it'll never happen because Rockstar's a buncha queers. And Ray Liotta being dead doesn't help at all :(
This is the closest we got for Tommy, he's still in power by the time GTA 3 happens

More trivia about Tommy Vercetti, he was motion-captured by Law & Order actor Jonathan Sale.

How were the scenes acted out? Was it just you, or you and other actors? Did you act out the script, to get the various motions just right?

It was much like shooting a movie. We had the entire script. We rehearsed for two weeks and shot for one week. We shot all of the cutscenes ... with up to four actors at a time. The computer could not process more than four motion capture actors at a time. The days were long; lots of scenes to shoot. All of the dialog was memorized.

That must've been awkward. Mo-cap actor has to memorize the script, voice actor has to memorize the script too.

The Rockstar Games Launcher is such a piece of shit. I'm locked out of my games because I lost access to the fucking email I shouldn't even need to play the game. Now I've submitted a ticket to customer service, and hope to fucking god they will actually let me switch emails.

I miss just popping in a game and playing it. Modern gaming is full of corporate trash!

FWIW, I had issues with two step verification with my Rockstar account. I deleted the app and forgot my password. Rockstar Support solved it within a couple hours. It did take time to find how to make a ticket. I hope it works out.

Same. I couldn’t log in during my lunch break to play my saved IV game. Took it a bit to actually get my saved game. Makes me want to go back to pirating every pc game.

Thanks for the responses.

I remember buying GTA IV for Xbox 360, just putting it in console, and playing it. A used disc I bought from GameStop in 2009. This corporate launcher shit really chaps my ass and ruins my gaming experience playing the same game in 2026.

I wish I had Xbox Live earlier. It’d be nice to play Cops & Crooks, Mafiya Work, even some races in IV. Now, all I get online is Free Mode. Sometimes you’d have people teleporting you around or even the skybox suddenly change on you.

I had the same problem with Halo. Still haven't been able to play it on my steam.

Yeah, it’s retarded and not necessary for a game that is 18 years old. Amazing how much freedom we have lost in the last 20 years.

At the very least, I’ll never buy another rockstar game. If I have to wait a year or two until VI is cracked on pc, then so be it.

Let us know (or at least me) how it goes.
I got a response. They told me they wouldn't change my Rockstar account, and I had to recover my Gmail account, which I couldn't do for months. It kept blocking me before, but now it worked somehow. I ended up having to tell Gmail to text me a security code on my phone, so I could type it in again. Afterward, it told me to change my password, and forced me to type in my other email for recovery purposes. I think this whole thing isn't a legit security issue, it's just Google wanting my personal info. I was able to get into my old Gmail account and Rockstar account afterward. I'm glad I can use my old email again. I guess this mess actually worked out.

Since I couldn't play GTA IV, I spent the night playing Max Payne. It's still fun, and a tough challenge. I'm waiting for the remake.

Oh, that's ugly. You temporarily lost access to the original email that you linked your Rockstar account too. I'm surprised you got in touch with Google. Glad it worked out.

I regret not having a Rockstar account when I had Chinatown Wars on my iPad with 90% completion. Now that I forgot the code, I have to start over.
