Grift Wars CENTCOM - Meta discussion for the Grift Wars board.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
This is just my opinion, but I believe it's erroneous to move the Ben Shapiro/Daily Wire thread from general Lolcows into Grift Wars. He and his business are effectively mainstream and even get broadcasted on radio, much higher profile than a mere "online content creator" this forum is meant to entail. Ben Shapiro is on par with Rush Limbaugh, Steven Bannon, Alex Jones, Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert. If any of those people had dedicated KF threads, would they be assigned to Grift Wars or Lolcows?
Ben Shapiro is undoubtedly one of the most mainstream people on the board, but he is a political grifter in the literal, original sense of the term- i.e., someone who changes their stance based on what's more profitable (he is also a jew so a grifter in the original original sense of a swindler, cheat)- and his tendency to wildly change his stance on key issues (aside from zionism) has been a core criticism from the right for years.
trump is a perfect example where he originally called trump antisemitic, then hopped on the trump train, then flipped to a "good trump/bad trump" stance when it was convenient, and (iirc) has been opposed to him post-2020. conveniently, his stance perfectly aligns with what had already been a popular (profitable) opinion.
daily wire is incredibly popular now but shapiro began his career exactly like everyone else on the board, as a small-time biased writer showing up on shows to holler over issues no one will change their stance on. the fairly famous time he was threatened by a tranny during a sit-down debate and all his "facts don't care about your feelings" are marketed toward already decided political viewers who will not be convinced.

he is an online content creator funded through that online content, content which is solely culture war centric, shows up on other shows to yell and promote, and whose occasional activism is ultimately entirely self-serving (speaking at his own events, own podcasts, never active campaigning for someone/something) rather than aimed at effecting change.
he is what every lolcow in grift wars wants to be, just because he's bigger doesn't mean he's different.

rush limbaugh and alex jones actively endorsed and campaigned for politicians and both are/were die-hard committed to beliefs that did not change. steve bannon was chief strategist for the white house. jon stewart and colbert are both faggots and closer, but ultimately are comedians, if biased hack ones that should be mocked.
shapiro and much of the rest of the 'con inc' crowd are non-committal talking heads jumping positions on issues to cash in on the most money from conservative viewers. he is not campaigning to change minds or even get people elected, rather to line his pockets by reinforcing ideas people want to hear.
in short, JEW!
(to reinforce this point you can compare him to fellow daily wire commenter andrew klavan, whose commentary is similar but outlined through a pretty consistent ideology that, when it changes, he explains on pragmatic grounds- he's still a zionist but not playing a firebrand for clicks which is ultimately all shapiro does)

Ben Shapiro and the Daily Wire regularly involve themselves in the Grift Wars scene to try and lend their alt-media projects some grassroots appeal.

The best example was when they got cancelled Star Wars actress/Daily Wire movie lead Gina Carano to hang out with the Quartering as some sort of "beauty and the chud" thing.
This failed because Hambley is so fundamentally repulsive that nobody could seriously believe Carano would willingly hang out with him. When Jeremy got trashed, efapped the video of them hanging out and started talking about this weird cuck movie pitch he had in his mind with himself and Carano, they decided to cut their losses and try to make a different kayfabe relationship with a different e-grifter.

Quartering was phased out and replaced by the FNT/Fandom Menace youtube "drunk3p0", who at least practices basic personal hygiene and has some semblance of how to behave around a woman in public, which proved to be swallowed much easier by the gullible sexless nerd fan base. Since then Quartering has taken every opportunity to 'call out', countersignal and rally against culture war figures employed by the Daily Wire like Matt Walsh and such, which I'm sure is totally unrelated.

The Daily Wire is one of the three "alt-media" organizations that regularly involve themselves in the space for free publicity, the others being Glenn Beck's The Blaze and Anthony Cumia's Compound Media.

IDK, he's certainly greedy but I wouldn't call his retarded shit overtly political nor does he really do "culture war" stuff.
Can see where you’re coming from when comparing Keemstar to more overtly political, culture war, cows. He is a big part of that scene, though he doesn’t advertise as such. His support of troons, Keffals in particular, during the height of dropkiwifarms, is what sways me. Also the fact that Keemstar has an audience filled with young people, who he sells the fiction of having to accept & validate troons. That makes him fit here, imo.

I think the Beardson, PPP, & Kino Casino threads should be migrated over to Da Sektur board. Beardson orbits Nick is a member of the sektur as is PPP.

If anything PPP & Beardson aren’t part of the Grift Wars per say they’re mainly Sektur Scum
Beansoy streams to 80 people making half the cost of the average kwfaggot's daily coffee consumption.

If anything he should be in the gutter, not grifter.

A thread for this board is along these lines:
  • Is an online content creator.
  • Is very involved in 'culture war' content.
  • Is a guest on other shows to promote themselves and yell at people.
  • Is primarily funded through their online content.
  • Is not a real activist, and any activism is incidental to their content, not the other way around.
That is everyone in Internet Famous. Please redefine Internet Famous because almost everyone under Internet Famous marks almost all those boxes.

The new board is bad and you should feel bad.

Forgive me for being a retard, but I think there is some serious issues with delineation.

IMO, lolcow is too broad and needs to be completely abolished to more specific boards or remain and allow a kind of meta-board for all subtypes. There will always be some sort of venn diagram overlap for subtypes, but I think anyone reasonable can make important distinctions that allow for clearly/understandably differentiation between internet famous, grift wars, animal control, internet tough guys, etc.

how do you distinguish between what's sektur, what's grift wars and what's internet famous?
The Sektur is pretty much anyone meaningfully connected to Ethan Ralph. Internet Famous is just for ecelebs generally who aren't inherently political or invested in culture wars. That board should require that the subjects be popular and have a noticeable online following. Grift Wars is designed for everyone directly invested in political/culture wars who collect money for their respective Internet presence.

Boogie doesn't seem to meet the criteria in the OP.
His grift is sadfishing and coasting on nostalgia.
He's not culture war, he's a Deathfat Spoony.
Aside from Hassle Boogie doesn't really beef with people. He's anemic asf.
I don't remember where Boogie was situated before, but I think he should be IF.

If it hasn't been mentioned, the TYT thread should be moved here. Cenk Uyghur and friends are grifter extraordinaries.

Did you ever get around to it? If not, I took the design quoted here and turned it into a flat SVG.

@Null Balldo SVG is attached for your consideration.
I forgot to upload them.

Two based on @Chibitzen
And one of my own.

Edit: fixed the dupe
Note: The colour can be changed on the client side so I just used generic green.
