Dementia is so hard for those of us on the outside. My late grandfather had Alzheimer's and it was absolute crap watching him deteriorate, especially since by all accounts and for most of my childhood he was a badass. Thankfully he never hit the playing in poop point, but the man he was even when I was 17 (memory was admittedly a bit fuzzy sometimes) to my age 21 (I'd be visiting him and every few minutes he'd be all excited and act like I just got there) was like night and day. Sure, there are funny stories and anecdotes of him in his waning years, but we had a hard time seeing him fade. Thank GodJesus for the nursing home staff that were there for him when he needed it.
Anyway, my gear grinders are:
People that call everything LOLOMGSORANNUM.
People that think something is funny just because it's LOLOMGSORANNUM.
Migraines.
Not getting my pay on time. If I didn't fulfill my end of the contract and booking, damn sure my name would be mud, but some of my agencies think they can make me wait an extra month than the agreed upon terms they made.
Fellow staffers who no call/no show or are complete boners at the event.
