Today in "What the fuck anet" Cassiano was unbanned.
Now for a history lesson. For those of you who may not know him, you probably know of his actions if you were playing 4 years ago, approximately 4 years ago Cassiano was a member of Guild MM, a guild of rich "Barons" and other rich players was kicked from the guild and banned from the overflow trading discord due to allegations of RMTing. In retalation he put up a mystic coin buy order wall to drive up the price of mystic coins to lower the profit margins of legendary crafting which many other barons did to generate their wealth. You can actually see this activity on any TP tracker which I've included below. This drove the price of mystic coins from 1.5 gold to as high as 2.5 gold
Approximately 8 months after this buy order wall went up during a stream Cassiano accidently opened his guild bank on stream without realizing it and quickly ends stream and tries to delete the VOD but it was too late and users had already took pictures of it's contents. While the infusions themselves are extremely suspicious because he had more infusions than were even theorized to exist, the black lion exclusive chest was the biggest red flag. Even if he was the mother of all whales and bought millions of dollars in gems and bought every single black lion exclusive off the TP he would have a magntitude more than had even been generated. (they were made easier to get in 2021 or 2022 I think).
This was the final straw on the camels back for anet who had ignored months of evidence of reports regarding his RMTing activities and numerous reports that people believed he was duping, anet stepped in and banned him which resulted in a million buy orders of mystic coins vanishing causing the value to plummet.
Normally you'd expect a story like this to end here, however it gets MUCH more retarded. A few days ago users on gw2efficency (an API website) noticed out of nowhere one person suddenly had hundreds of multiple different infusions which were released before 2021. Initial belief was that a new dupe was possible however people noticed something interesting, on their block lists Cassiano's account name was gone and a new name was there - alejandro.2093 if you attempt to go to casiano's gw2forums account

And of course it wouldn't be a total anet clown show without them deleting forum posts and banning users about the issue! You can still find the post archived in google search.
It's unclear exactly why anet let an infamous duper and RMTer get unbanned however given their track history in banning known RMTer's (MAT PvP seller Naru who has been proven multiple times even recently to still be selling MAT's for real world money and who was previously perma banned is also no longer banned AND IS AN ANET PARTNER) it's also unclear if they even bothered to wipe his duped items out, or if they missed some. Either way, get ready for infusions to tank hard, casiano has since deleted his gw2efficency API key so people can no longer see how many he has.
