Okay bump, Im really not good with computers...

Soo, two days ago I managed to blow up my win 8 laptop - I was downloading shit on steam and playing hearthstone when it had a shitfit and shut itself down. When I logged in again I had been assigned a "temp" profile, nothing I do is saved when I log out.

I thought "eh fuck it" and just made another user but it's doing the same thing. I can't work out how to access non-temporary profiles. I wouldve just done a clean install if this laptop had a disk drive *sigh*. Any advice oh glorious nerds?

Install Linux.
 
Before I research this, I just want to go over it again so I'm researching the correct thing. When ever you access your computer, you can't save anything is that correct?
 
... i know its a cliche PC fix tip but it only fucks up when turned off and back on again so obv ive tried that :roll:

Indeed. Whenever I log into a windows profile it assigns me a "temporary" one that is wiped when it logs off.
