To be fair even the empty bases would probably be a valuable resource to the dilapidated western NATO militaries.

The UK currently has so few active duty soldiers that the last time they had a smaller army was when they demobilized after the Napoleonic wars. (73k today, 72k in 1823)

I heard a anectode that it is impossible to score a perfect result in marksmanship in the German Army. Not because the test is hard, but because they have been using the same rifles for it since the late 1990s and by now they are pretty much smoothbores meaning even if you are a absurdly good shooter you can't score.

Put Gunther in charge, he will solver this.
 
He’s such a cartoon of a human being you simply cannot hate this guy despite his insufferable politics. It’s clear to me he spent his best years at the end of the Cold War and simply wants to relive the thrill of it.

Anyways I made a character based on Gunther Fehlinger-Jahn his name Gunthow Furlinger-Jawn. He is World Trotting Eurocrat Cave Lion who loves The Eu and hates neutrality and he Arch Enemy of Samovara Malvinovich, a Russian conspiracy nut. He also loves Albania.
