European Federalist and Neocon. Politically he would be characterized in European politics as a liberal or progressive, even when that's not actually reflected in his broader worldview or sense of ethics.
One of the interesting quirks of European political culture is that since wanting a centralised, integrated EU has become a "progressive" position, it allows you to advocate for things that would make you sound like a time-traveling 19th century imperialist without that attached. If you're simply a British or French (or Austrian) nationalist who dislikes the EU and opposes its further political integration, but you believed everything else someone like Gunther Fehlinger believes, you would be quickly labelled as far-right and possibly a bit scary and dangerous. But when it's tied to the "European project", it instantly becomes a liberal position again.
If you're American, think of how you can be a Democrat but still believe 95% of the same things a Republican believes - oppose universal healthcare, support bombing Iran, oppose student debt relief - but if you happen to also believe boy's high school bathrooms should have tampon dispensers (or whatever the current frivolous wedge issue is this week), that is the critical X factor that puts you on the "blue" team and no one even thinks about how similar you are otherwise to your Republican opponent.
