Gypsy Rose Blanchard being released from prison is nuts

Look I will say this. What she did was wrong, it is always wrong to commit murder (not self defense/justifiable homicide) but murder. She premeditated to kill her Munchie mom.
Sorry we have to enforce the laws, that being said understanding the circumstances of abuse she should be shown leniency. I'm sorry if you had a munchie mom she still did the wrong thing.b

That being said I'm glad she's being released and I hope she can move on with her life to be quite honest because some people do deserve a second chance.

Yeah, then you read how she manipulates some autist into doing it using sex as the reward and the leniency plummets.

Look I feel ya there but at the same time it's like do I really need to feel sorry for a munchie mom that abused her kid. Doesn't the shittyness kind of cancel itself out.

I'd rather not allow the precedent. In the end it's a he said she said and the manipulation doesn't paint gypsy in a good look, then again with a name like gypsy it's not surprising.

Interestingly, I’m pretty sure she’s named after a character from a famous musical. In the show, Gypsy Rose Lee’s mother is a typical stage mom, trying to live vicariously through her daughters. She even ends up pushing a young Gypsy into burlesque. They have a very horrible relationship because of this.

Kind of weird when you think about the comparison.

The musical Gypsy was based upon the real life of Gypsy Rose Lee. I'm not sure how true it is to life.

But supposedly Gypsy Blanchard's parents did not name her as such. I read somewhere it was because Dee Dee liked the name "Gypsy" and Ron was a fan of Guns 'n Roses. If they knew, they likely wouldn't have knowingly named their daughter after a burlesque performer. But who the hell even knows.

However, there are a lot of similarities in terms of the mothers parading around their daughters for money, forging birth certificates for their daughters (to the point that both Gypsies didn't know their real birthdays), and being absolutely crazy.

Yup! It's still on Fancy's channel. The last week over there is worth checking out. She was sued, knew about it and gloated how many days she made sure she wasn't able to be served, then last minute decided to go on a girl's trip that coincided with the court appearance, and crowdfunded for all of it. The backlash has been much expected.

The internet really doesn't like thinking they were funding a lawsuit, and the person just goes on a vacation, has Keffals taught us nothing?

Not to be an asshole here, but Gypsy is not a victim and never was, there’s been many key factors proven that she is far from innocent.

A lot of people here are going by what they see from the Hulu series "The Act" and her interviews from the documentary "Mommy Dead And Dearest", but nobody has bothered to watch any of the interrogation or trial videos as well as the CCTV footage from the hotel lobby along with crime scene photos.

  • Nick has always stated that he only stabbed Dee Dee 4 times whereas there were 17 stab wounds in total. Where did the 13 other wounds come from?
  • Then there’s the fact there were tire marks on the grass of the backyard as well as a cigarette butt on the floor and guess who smokes? Gypsy and Dan does! Guess who drives? Dan does!
  • During one of Gypsy’s interviews she claimed that her and Nick had to spend an extra night at the hotel because there was a problem with her and Nick getting the Greyhound tickets, but CCTV footage shows that they left with the tickets
  • In another interview she claims that Nick was the first person she ever told that she could walk and that Nick was supposedly the one who introduced her to the BDSM lifestyle, but that paedophile Dan had testified in court that Gypsy was actually the one who introduced him to BDSM and that she also told him that she knew she could walk
  • The crime scene photos as well as the evidence bags showed no "dog leashes" or "chains" were found, neither was there any "pee buckets" so clearly it was a lie that Dee Dee supposedly "tied her to the bed"
  • During the trial, Gypsy was asked if Nick really raped her, she responded "no", but in all of her interviews she told people Nick raped her right after he killed Dee Dee. Can we even trust what she says?
  • In Gypsy’s interrogation video, every single time the officer left the room, she would immediately stop crying and would get off the couch and run up to the door, lay on the floor and start listening in so she could hear everything. Does that sound innocent?
  • Gypsy’s medical records from prison showed she had a chromosome disorder called "Microdeletions" and a lot of the symptoms of that disorder requires various medical procedures that she had including using a wheelchair and having a feeding tube
  • Let’s not forget that Gypsy says she regrets having her mom killed, but not once has she actually physically produced tears when she supposedly "cried on camera". The only time she ever physically showed a real actual tear when crying was when she cried on the phone to her stepmother (Kristy) over her boyfriend Ken abandoning her during the recording of her series "Life After Lockup".
  • Kimberly (former neighbor and friend of Gypsy’s) has actually stated that she never got any impression that Gypsy was being abused and that Gypsy seemed to only care about sex and men
  • Gypsy could not have been held hostage against her own will because she was able to sneak out several times, including the time when she got that knife and she would have noisy webcam sex with Nick every night
  • Dee Dee was physically bedridden various health complications like her obesity and diabetes, there was no way she would have been fit enough to inflict harm upon her own daughter if she was unable to get out of bed to care for herself
  • The autopsy report showed older injuries that were not consistent with the murder which could only mean that Gypsy had hurt Dee Dee a few times whilst she was still alive and even the police took photographs of Gypsy’s hands when she was arrested and the photos showed bruises on her hands that were fading which indicates that she hit Dee Dee a few times before she had died
There’s a Youtube channel called "Becca Scoops" which has a lot of useful information regarding GRB and the case so I recommend people should watch all of the videos before defending Gypsy.

Agreed. Seeing the media try to paint her in a sympathetic light is so gross. She was extremely lucky to only get 8 years in prison for what she and Nick did as well as being caught lying to investigators several times.
