Chapter 1. School Springs.
School has begun after term. Everyone's getting ready to go back to class and cherish new moments to keep. Clothes have been bought, and everyone's as fresh as ever.
"Mum I'm heading for school!" - Me
"Ok honey, make sure your home for supper!" - Mum
Ryu goes to school with his mates he sees on the route to school. They had the same chit-chat, as usual, saying about random nonsense and sometimes mischief such as throwing a water balloon at Miss Atoro. Miss Atoro was the school's most hated teacher. No one liked her except for her colleagues. She was always miserable and didn't plan lessons as good as they could be; students thought she planned a lesson within 10 minutes. That's not good! The only time she plans out amazing lessons is when inspectors from Ofsted come in to inspect how well the teacher is doing. They tell the teacher beforehand when they are coming to investigate and what period, bla bla. She once planned a lesson for four hours straight just to get a good rating from Ofsted. Many students complained about the flawed system and that Ofsted staff should come in as a surprise to really see how a class is doing.
Most of the pupils are late in style, just like every new school year. Students were upset that school had started again, but they were like "whatever, it is what it is." Students had time to chit chat before they had to head over to form. Then, out of everyone's eyes, we saw someone new in the school. A mysterious figure. She was skinny, had dark hair, glorious eyes and to top it off a beautiful body. She looked as if she was a princess and probably entered the school drunk or something. We didn't have the most lavish students in our school, so we didn't expect someone as pretty as her entering. Everyone was gossiping to each other saying "who's the new girl?", "Who is that?" "Wow, she's hella pretty!".
Everything was going great until the weird kid came in. I felt kind of bad for him as he always gets bullied but the things he does, my god how I felt, He once bit paper in a class just because a girl told him to. I don't know if that some kind of affectionate thing or only because he has a bolt stuck in his head. I felt sympathy for him. One time we were doing PE, and he was changing in one of those closed rooms ( It looked like a shower cubicle ). A boy slammed his door, and his nose started to bleed. That wasn't even the worst. We were doing gymnastics, and then he was just sitting in a mat by himself. The teacher went out to grab some equipment, and then all of the boys started to punch, kick and torture him. I'd of stopped all of them immediately, but I wasn't in the best shape. I was actually kind of overweight at the time, and I'd definitely not stand against punks like them, never.
Some of the girls who were high-profiled (I hate saying that word. Make's me feel like I'm low class) approached her. I could tell she was timid and didn't want to say anything and kind of wanted to run away. She just said "Hi." The girls were so happy and surprised like they were about to burst, like over-filling a balloon. She didn't want to speak much, and I could also tell she just wanted to run away. My friend then pointed out "Wow, she's a cutie. Surprised she even came to a school like ours." I just gave a little "heh." Well, in other words, just a nod.
Chapter 2: Form Time
The pips went off signalling it was time for form. To my surprise, the new girl was in my form! What are the odds? I kind of started laughing in my head till our form tutor came to take the register. I wondered what her name was. As my form teacher was taking the register I wondered what the new time-table was like and if I had moved up sets or not. I was really hoping I did as I worked off my ass this year.
"Mikasa?" - Miss
I was like, Woah what the hell. She's Japanese? My school was pretty diverse, but Japenese transfer students weren't ordinary. Actually, the only other Japanese student is in year 11, and she is leaving anyway soon as she relocated a new home. The new girl didn't really look Japanese, but whatever. No one responded. I think she misheard or something.
Miss then recalled her name: "Mikasa, Mikasa here?"
Then the new girl said very shyly: "Here, miss!"
Everyone looked back at her, and she started to panic inside and not say anything. Then Kasumi ( Probably the most likeable girl I've ever seen in my entire life. She's also way too kind to people. That's why she's so well respected ) sighed to her but in a good way and said
"Hey, don't worry! This school is all about helping and communication. If you're shy, don't be! We are here to help you if you need support. My name is Kasumi. Want to hang out at break time? I'll show you around the school!"
Everyone in form was in their head like "That girl is wayyyy too kind." We all knew that we were jealous of her. Somehow she doesn't have a boyfriend, which was extremely confusing to me. How could someone not choose her out of all people? Yikes, It's none of my business; however, so I let the idea slip out of my head.
I went to look back slightly until Mikasa responded with: "Oh, thanks. My name is Mikasa. Nice to meet you."
Kasumi responded with: "I'll see you at break time. What class do you have? It's on your time-table below what room it is."
That's when I remembered the new time-table being handed out. I took a huge breath, and I prayed to God... I moved up. And holy shit was I surprised.
I literally stood up and said: "GUYS OH MY GOD I JUST MOVED TO SET 1!!!!"
The form class just responded with "Good for you!" sarcastically.
Except for Kasumi who said: "Congratulations, keep up the great work!"
Masumi (The most quietist kid) was just clueless on what to say, as expected. I was moved from set 3 To set 1 for all my classes! Except for maths. I was terrible at maths mainly due to not paying in lessons because they were so boring. I would rather watch paint dry. I stayed in set 2, But that's good enough, I thought. I'm still in the higher classes which meant I wasn't failing. Kasumi asked for Mikasa's time-table as she was troubled to read it as if it was some kind of cryptic ancient message. My ear went to listen to what classes she was in. Pretty sure most of the form people were.
"Wow, you're pretty smart!" - Kasumi
"Huh?" - Mikasa
"You're in set 1 for every class!" - Kasumi
"Is that a good thing?" - Mikasa
Everyone sighed in amazement. It was as if she just went into secondary school. We were all in year 9, so it should be well known what sets are. Set 8 is the least knowledgable class. Set 1 is the best. Maybe Mikasa was from a foreign country. Now that I think of it, she does have a foreign accent and didn't sound anywhere remotely from the area. Not even the country.
"Well, Yea. Have you never heard of sets before?" - Kasumi
Kasumi went to explain to her what sets where.
"Wow, I'm so proud of myself. Thankful too!" - Mikasa. She gave off a smile.
"You should be!" - Kasumi
Chapter 3: Time for Class
It was time for period one. Set one English. I was pretty relieved to have English as the first period as it is one of my favourite subjects in school.
The classroom was surprisingly tidy. Oddly tidy. Too tidy. Everything was mostly clean, the shelves, the desks, and to the amazement of my eyes the whiteboard. Those were never clean, and the poor janitor has to always clean it. I don't know why the teacher never cleans the whiteboard after they use it. Maybe it's just a traditional thing amongst the school. The scribbles on the walls the previous walls were washed away. What a relief and an excellent way to start off the new academic year!
We had to have a new seating plan each year. Last year was an absolute mess. I thought the teacher was sitting people next to people who hate and I was no exception. I had to sit next to some monster who picked his nose literally all the time. He somehow made up to set 1, which was a tremendous surprise for everyone. Everyone was shouting saying "EWWW how did that clown get up to set one?" He was in set four, which is one of the lower classes. Not going to lie, I was pretty surprised by my self. I never thought he'd climb up the ranks either. I felt terrible for everyone trying to mock him and tell him he didn't deserve to enter the higher levels. But I mean, if you're going to be weird then you face the consequences. Might feel self-entitled here but I mean, it's not my fault.
The teacher told everyone to stop being to mean to him and that we're an outstanding school and bullying is strictly prohibited. Outstanding school. What a funny excuse. Anyway, the teacher wrote her name down on the whiteboard. "Miss Jannete." She also proceeded to give us brief details about her self.
"Hello. My name is Miss. Jannete. I'm from America, and I've been in the army for over four years with excellent melee and weapon combat skills. I'm thirty-six years of age, and I know six different languages: English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Italian and Latin." She announced.
Military huh. She must be a strong woman. A thought popped up into my head, and I am literally craving for the answer for that question. What would her reaction be when the class goes to a whole chaotic warzone? Would she be polite like a civilized human being or be mob-like personnel in the army.
Miss. Jannete were giving us fresh books as it was the start of the new academic year. They were yellow, standard lined books. Nothing special. Nashta threw a paper aeroplane across to the classroom to her mate for some reason. The teacher didn't find them doing this but hey, what an excellent way to start the year. Miss called out the register, and I was writing my name, set and other information on my book until my partner told me what to write. I was going to say "Haha, you're so funny. You've been in this school, and you don't know what to write. Go die in a fire." I'm pretty harsh, yes. But I'm fortunate I didn't slip up my words because the person next to me wasn't in the school for three years. In fact, it was Mikasa.
She turned her head to me and told me.
"Hey uh, what do you write?"
I responded to her with the answer.
"Your name, Teacher (Miss Jannete), Room (1.35) and book number. (Book 1)"
She nodded her head and replied by saying thanks. What a nice person. Wish we had more of Kasumi and Mikasa in our school.
The teacher carried on by giving out sheets of work to do. In other terms, mini-activities. We were learning about a modern film (The Amazing Spider-Man). We had to assemble when the script was written and detailed info about language techniques where used throughout the script. Pretty cool to say the least. The whole class did the work swiftly, and we were going onto the next activity. Things were going well until the teacher left... the weird kid started to do strange things like sticking his tongue out and saying cryptic messages which no-one understood. One girl told him to eat paper, and out of my disbelief, he actually put the piece of paper in his mouth. I thought the last time would be the last time, but I was mistaken. I thought he had some brain cells, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. It is what it is. Weirdos being weirdos. And if it wasn't worse enough, Ashton got involved. Ashton is known to bully the weird kid a lot. I mean, A LOT. He not only targets him but many other people too. He's known to move drugs stab people to beat people and what-not. He's basically a young mafia member. He started to punch his face. And if that wasn't bad enough, he got a rubber, crushed it into bits and threw it into his hair. Yikes! That's kind of cruel. I wasn't fond of the idea of bullying him, but he is so annoying at times that he deserves it. I wish he could just learn not to harass people and he'd be fine. But that could never work. I looked at Mikasa to see her reaction, and she was just as still as a stone. She just tried to work on unlike everyone else. This is the kind of attitude people should have. Not get in massive obstructions when you have something to do. I'm kind of guilty for falling into the trap, though.
The kid started to rage and started to cry. No sympathy was shown amongst the class. I felt terrible, but I couldn't start a rebellion, especially when I kind of hated him my self. The teacher came back from god knows how long and sees the kid cry. Miss. Janette was sympathetic to the child (and probably Mikasa too). Everyone acted as if they didn't do anything and if no-one knew either. Which is perhaps the scummiest thing to do in situations like this. Miss. Jannette took him outside of the classroom and told him to go in an office or something so a safeguarding team member could help him out which they usually do but only for a while. Next time an incident happens like this is probably sooner than later. That's a bad thing.
Miss. Jannete came back around five minutes later, she was furious. She shouted at the class.
"Who made that kid cry?"
The class paused.
"Answer me... NOW!"
Everyone felt the rush of adrenaline going through their hearts when Miss exclaimed that. I looked over to Mikasa again, and she nearly started to cry. I actually think I saw a tier coming out of her eye. Miss was looking around the classroom until she saw Mikasa about to cry. Miss thought she was the one that made him cry when, in fact, she didn't. She looked as if she found the criminal behind the wrong scandal. She decided to mock her and say. "Oh my, aren't you the new kid everyone was talking about? Come outside for a bit. Don't think you're the top class bitch, princess." Mikasa started to cry slowly. It slowly rose in speed, and her sanity was getting lower and lower. Miss smiled in a devilish way and took her outside the classroom.
Everyone started chit-chatting to their peers and saying Ashton should just give in. That was no use. He would never do that.
He even said this himself: "Does it look like I'm an inferior to you? Why would I snitch myself to a slut hahaha? You must be on drugs if you think I'd ever to that losers. She's a waste of semen, bitch!"
The class shut up for a second and gave a hopeless look at Ashton.
His girlfriend barked at him, saying "What the fuck is wrong with you, asshole?" Fumes of toxicity were roaming around her head while she was giving out her message to Ashton.
"Don't care." Replied Ashton.
I didn't say anything, as usual. I didn't know what to. That was a good thing; I didn't want to have a bruise in my eye. No thanks.
Miss came back with Mikasa crying all over her face. She came back to the seat next to me. I had some issues in my blazer pocket and decided to hand her over some so she could wipe the tears off her face. It was like a waterfall at this point. It's kind of ironic picking on a new student. Miss. Jannete was actually a new teacher herself.
"Are you alright?" - I said.
"Yea.. yeah... Just fine." - She whimpered.
"To be fair, I never expected such rude behaviour from the teacher. Don't worry; she'll probably get fired." - I replied. (This was kind of true. But events like these have happened before. Like six years ago but that's a story for another time).
"Thanks for making me feel better. I'm not as bold as everyone else. I'm actually quite shy and sensitive". - Mikasa replied. This kind of alit my eyes. If I found the cure for all diseases, I don't know why. My moment was then broke when someone pointed out the weird kid was coming back to class. It was kind of late enough. It was 10:45, and in 5 minutes the class would be finished, and we would be out for break time. The teacher gave an apology to her and told her that the real delinquent had been dealt with.
Just before anyone noticed, the pips went signalling it was time for break time. That's when I remembered Kasumi was going to give Mikasa a tour around the school. I could tell Mikasa wasn't in the mood to do so. She probably even forgot about it since what literally happened 5 minutes ago.
Chapter 4: Touring School.
I got on my phone as quickly as I could and gave Kasumi a quick message saying Mikasa can't take the tour.
"Oh, So sad. What happened?" - Kasumi
"It's a longgggg story. I'll explain it to you later on." - Me
"Alright. Cya soon!" - Kasumi
Okay then. I guess I could try to give her a tour instead. I mean she did know me better than Kasumi, and she probably thinks more positively about me.
"Hey, Could I give you a tour around the school?" - Me
"Sure, I'd love the check out this school." - Mikasa
She then said upsettingly: "And to lighten up the mood."
"Great! Let's get started!" - Me
Alright then, I guided her around the first floor since we were already on it. There were three floors in total, well actually two. The third floor was actually in the 1st block/sector. I showed her around the different blocks around the first floor. The first block being the music department and the entrance for assembly which was on Tuesdays in the morning and Fridays in the afternoon for year 9. It rotates every year. Well, it's not really the first since there was a block called "0th block." That was the science area. I loved science! I think Mikasa does too due to her eyes glowing in amazement. Is that even possible or am I tripping? Anyway, we headed over to the second block, which was the, well, I don't know. We never had classes there, so I just told her it's not essential. Over to the third block! The third block was the English department were me, and she had the first class of the day. Moving on, the fourth block. The fourth block was the humanities area where they teach geography and some other subject. I don't remember on top of my head. That made me feel dumb as I've been here for well over two years.
"Wow! And this is only the first floor? I would love to see the other floors! This school is massive, and I hope to see much more exciting things!" - Mikasa
"There's a lot of other things to see within the school. Like the computer science area." - Me
The computer science area was also one of the most favourite areas at my school. It's not because I'm a huge computer nerd. Okay fine, it is. Most of my mates hang around in the computer science area playing an online shooter gaming versing each other. Very fun. Once I played this one game called Krunker.io and got a ten killstreak. I was one of the best players out of my friends mainly because I use most of my free time wasting my life in front of a computer. My other friend Dayku shot me mid-air three times in a row which was very talented. I don't know how he does it, but he's full of talent. He's also one of the smart kids too!
The pips went off as break time was only twenty minutes. The next class was science, and I adore science. It's literally one of the best subjects ever made! My favourite field in science was chemistry and the medical area. I'd love to experiment with genetics and chemical formulas and whatnot. I then decided to ask Mikasa what type of science she liked.
"Hey Mikasa, What type of science do you prefer?" - Me
"I absolutely love biology and chemistry! They're so fascinating. Did you know how many atoms there are in the human body? Billions! Did you also know the hand has holes due to the structure of atom..." - Mikasa
She rambled on for way too much that I thought I'd be at least 2000 years old before I could carry on. So I just cut her off politely and showed her the way to science.
While on the way to science, we saw Ashton on the side with his mates' siding with him. I told Mikasa to hide behind me so Ashton doesn't see him because I didn't want a scene to arise or else this day would go much worse than how it already is. Luckily they didn't see, and they went off to their science class which I believed was set two. Their classroom was opposite ours, so I needed to make sure Mikasa was behind me when we were going to form after class ended. I'm sure that Ashton would love to kill Mikasa if he saw her and I'm not going to let that happen. I promise...
Chapter 5: Anger.
Science class is about to start to everyone's surprise we got a sub-teacher. When a sub teacher arrives, the class reacts as if it's Christmas. I even cheered along due to how happy I was. Sub teachers are basically idle people who sit in a chair and read a book while the class turns into a funfair or a nightclub, your choice. The boys were smoking weed in one area while the girls were doing each other's hair, and one buy pulled the fire alarm. Some other kid started to smash the window but he couldn't as he was too weak. We all have some naughty girl in our class. The naughty girl in our class turned on the gas valves, which was a big no-no since the boys who were smoking weed has lighters and when lighters come in contact with the gas. Well, you can work that out for your self. Mikasa swiftly turned off the gas valves after that naughty girl went to her seat. Who knows what would've happened if she didn't do that.
Fortunately, we all got to work thirty minutes into the lesson. We had to write a hypothesis on how plants photosynthesis. Did I move back a class? Damn. Some of my classmates did their work, and Mikasa completed the class-work in like, 2 minutes? What the hell?
I asked her: "How did you finish so damn fast?"
She replied: "Didn't I tell you that I'm a science nerd?" she chuckled.
Oh, yeah. I forgot about that.
All of a sudden, the class started to get noisier than average; Kam begun to play music and to make matters worse, he connected it to his speaker. Isington (Yeah, Isington) began to fill the whole room with smoke using his vape and the girls painting their nails with highlighters and started gossiping about their crushes and "bad boys." Me, Mikasa and my friend Izumi began to cover our heads under a book. We thought we'd be protected, but it turned out to be as useless as putting a plastic bag cover your face. The sub teacher fell asleep, which was beautiful. Our class turned literally turned into a nightclub. Nah, scrap that idea it turned exactly into an amateur meth lab. Danny was a science expert and a crackhead at the same time and found some ingredients to create meth. He knew the meth formula by memory and knew how to make it. Why the hell does our school even have the equipment to make meth?
Finally, A teacher kicked down the door and entered the room and shouted with rage "Stop, STOP IMMEDIATELY!" She closed the room and had a baton in her hand. She pointed to Danny and most of the other boys who were making meth, smoking or any other type of illegal activity. Multiple security guards came in and put handcuffs on the boys and took them away. Now I knew how it felt to be raided if I worked in a meth lab/cocaine factory. Mikasa was terrified as the usual. I reassured her that if she were quiet and got on with the work, nothing would happen.
The conversation ended short when security put on gas masks and took the boys away with handcuffs. Am I dreaming? What the f***? It really is like that sometimes. The teacher started to spray something which made the class breathable again. The girls were pardoned since the teacher didn't catch them doing anything wrong, but that naughty girl would've got kicked out from the school instantly if the teachers saw what she did with the gas valves.
Danny opened the handcuffs and tried to run away until one of the guards caught him. The guard snapped at Danny and shouted at him saying: "Get yo f**king ass awake or I'm gonna make you disabled."
No need to be that harsh, relax Jesus christ! Mikasa wanted to run away and never come here again. I couldn't blame her. What even is this? Smoking weed, tripping the fire alarm, a teacher who is literally sleeping and guards shouting at the sub teacher as if he murdered his family or something.
The teacher finally relaxed and told the class that she'd be in charge instead and that the sub teacher was going to be fired. She told us the usual rules which were no talking, no copying, etc. What we didn't know is that she doesn't give warnings but straight detentions. She gave an exclusion to the talking rule, which was if we finished all the work, we would be allowed to talk to our peers. Messing around with this teacher is a big no-no. The class now only had two boys (me and Izumi) and the girls left. Me, Izumi started to catch up on the work so we could talk to each other and head out for lunch. While this was going through, I realised I did something horribly wrong. I accidentally wrote down the wrong formula for photosynthesis which made me say "oh shit" aloud.
"Detention for five minutes. Try something funny, and I'll get you enrolled in summer school." The teacher sharply told me.
Great. Excellent. Amazing. My thoughts in my head were going around in a circle with insults I wanted to fire back. I tried to call her a whore and to hang herself but as I didn't want her to register me to military training, or worse, flipping the script and hanging me instead.
Me and Izumi eventually finished the work, and we started to talk to each other with Mikasa about what happened and started to laugh. We were all having a good time until the pips went off. I didn't realise that we only had five minutes of talking time because of my mistake. I packed my bag and was ready to tour Mikasa around the second floor until the teacher stopped me.
"Oh, big and bold trying to escape class with detention. Too cool for school? Go sit down over there (she pointed to the far left corner of the room) and sit there for 5 minutes. I'd of given you a fifteen-minute detention. Be appreciative."
Oh well, five minutes isn't too long. I told Mikasa to wait outside for me and to go on her phone or something while waiting for me to get released. I sat down and read a book.
"Hey? Do you hear that? Is another riot going on?" - Teacher.
"Huh?" - I responded.
"What fuss is happening outside now?" - Teacher.
I packed my bag and went to go outside with the teacher to investigate what was going on.
So many students screaming "Stop!!!, What the f**k, You monster!" everything you could imagine being said in a fight-- No. It can't be. No... Please, God, please think I'm thinking wrong.
I went out of the class and saw what I believed even satan would forbid. Ashton, Mikasa.
No...
Anger, despair, hatred floating around Mikasa's mind as she turns her head and faces me. Everything slowed down as tears started to flow down her eyes by the mass outrage being caused. A helpless soul being tormented by trained soldiers. Ashton and his friends.
No...
Everything faded as if I just woke up from a coma. I reached out my arm to grab a flask, and I smashed it on Ashton's face and punched his friend in the eye. They yelled in pain, and I thought it was all over. But that wasn't the case.
Ashton shouted: "You... You bitch..."
I woke up in the infirmary where I saw blood pouring out of me everywhere. I yelled and nearly started to scream.
"He's awake! He's awake! Inject the anaesthetic drugs into him. We don't have time! chop-chop!"
My eyes started to fade slowly.
It was over. I woke up.
"Hu-Huh? What happened?" - Me.
"Oh, You're awake! How delightful." - Surgeon.
I gazed around the room until I saw Mikasa. She looked happy to see me awake.
"Ryu!!! I thought you died. I'm so happy to see you awake!". - Mikasa. She tried to hug me until one of the surgeons stopped her saying: "That's not a good idea for now. He just woke up, and he might actually die if you hug him."
"Oh, sorry!!" - Mikasa responded. Her face went red, and she turned upset.
"Haha only joking, Go hug him!" - The surgeon grinned.
"Here's a hug to the best person in the world!" - Mikasa told me as she went to hold me by the arms and hug me.
I felt an urge of pain near my stomach. Hugs are supposed to feel reassuring and comforting, but this was the opposite.
"Ow, Ouch!" - I exhaled.
"Oh, sorry. Did I hurt you?" - Mikasa.
"Nah, don't worry about it. It's just I'm feeling pain in my stomach." - I said
I pulled my shirt up to see a massive blood-house on my stomach and the residing area. I nearly flipped my shit and asked what the hell happened. No response. I then realised my parents aren't here. I already had an answer to that. They always go on business trips, and it's a shame they couldn't come and visit me. Removing the negative thoughts, I'm happy Mikasa was here.
The surgery doors opened, and I was relieved to see my friends. "Izumi! Saki!". Most of my other friends were probably at home being busy, but my best mates came along.
"Dude! You're fine! Thank God!!!!" - They both said. They became relieved.
Me and my friends were chatting about games and such as we normally did until the surgeon said visiting hours were close to closing. I then remembered to ask Mikasa what happened to me.
She said: "I'll tell you when you fully recover."
Great. Now I'm locked behind a mystery, and I don't think the surgeons would spill the details either. They were in with Mikasa keeping it a secret until I was able to leave. Isn't that illegal? Oh well. They helped me be alive, so I shouldn't be giving them a hard time. However, I was still very eager to know, and I prayed I made a fast recovery. Unable to be patient, I asked one of the surgeons:
"How long was I in here for?"
"Ah, About two weeks" - He replied.
Two weeks? Are you kiddin' me? I thought in my head. Those drugs sure did make me go to sleep.
It hasn't been the first time I've been in hospital, so it wasn't as frightening. I once had to come to the hospital to get my appendix removed since it was infected. The surgeons did surgery on me and discharged me a week later saying I was good to go. Oh boy, I hoped that was true. Literally, a few days later, symptoms started to show, and I had to go back to the hospital for another week. I'd be fine if this didn't happen during the summer holidays. Any other time would've been better. I lost half of my summer in the hospital. The doctors prescribed me with antibiotics, that made me feel I was going to puke every time I had them. But I'm thankful I'm alive, and healthcare is free where I live. In some countries, they don't have such services or equipment. I'm not one to complain about free things. They're free after all, and someone put effort into it.
A week passes by. The doctors transferred me to another room for just my self. How lucky I was. Apparently, they don't give out private rooms, rather shared areas. I read a lot of books, played on a PlayStation and just checking out the hospital like the last time I've been here. The nurses were taking my blood using some finger-pricking device which pricks your finger to get some of your blood out.
The nurse receives a message on the radio about some visitor wanting to see me. I thought it was my parents or my friends, but when the door opened I was surprised, It was Mikasa.
"Hiiii!" - Mikasa. She looked as ecstatic as she could ever be. I don't know why she's so happy to see me in a bed with a massive bloodfest around my stomach, but whatever.
"I'll leave you two alone. You both have an hour." - Said the nurse.
"Thanks." Mikasa and I both replied.
"So, why am I here? Are you fine after what happened with Ashton?" - I asked.
"Oh, About that. Remember when you rebelled and smashed a glass flask on his head?" - Mikasa responded.
"Yeah?" I replied questioningly.
"Well, he retaliated by grabbing a knife out of his pouch and stabbing you in the stomach. You were taken instantly to the nurses' office where you started to bleed more, so you were admitted to hospital. You, Me, Ashton and his friends became the main headlines of the school. Ashton was taken away and got jailed for a couple of years. Many people felt sympathetic for me, but I told them to pray and send attention to you since you are the one who really needed it. Her girlfriend broke up with him, and his friends were suspended from school for a week. They actually apologised to me. I told them never to have fights again, but I don't know if they would listen to me, but it was worth a shot." - She explained.
"Wow, I'm very thankful. Thank you." - I replied. I was wowed.
"No need to sweat it! You helped me out in critical times too. I never thought you'd of came and helped me out. I can't lie, I probably would've been stabbed too if you didn't intervene. I'm not as strong anyone else so I would've died." - She responded upsettingly.
"Heh, You should be rocking the gym. You should do weights. You're already skinny so you should be fine skipping to weights." - I said, smiling.
Her cheeks went bright red.
"Oh, I.. didn't.. mean to.. embaras-" She cut me off.
"No, no, no... It's not that I was embarrassed; it's just that a girl like me going to the gym? Is that even possible?" - Mikasa replied.
I let out a laugh.
"Many girls go to the gym. You don't have to have twelve-packs or anything. Just gain some strength. I'll support you. No problem." - I reassured her.
"You really think so? Will you be there for me?" - She said unsurely.
"Of course! I mean, you came to check up on me. It's the least I could do. There's a gym in our school near the entrance. You can ask the teachers if you are still unsure." - I said.
"Yes. I suppose so. I'll start tomorrow!" - She replied enthusiastically.
"Alright visiting times over." - The nurse stated as she entered the room.
"Bye, Ryu!" - Mikasa
I then paused since I didn't recall telling Mikasa my name. However, I didn't ask her how she knew my name as I thought it wasn't necessary to do so.
"Bye Mikasa" - Me
Mikasa left with a smile on her face while exiting the room. Later on, I asked the nurse how long I'll be in the hospital.
"Oh, you're actually getting discharged next week. We just need to do a few more blood tests and such. Your parents will come to pick you up. They seem very concerned. Not furious, just scared. We convinced them that you're fine and not in critical condition. They turned comfortable when explained." The nurse said.
"Right. Thanks." - I said
"No problem. Press that button over there (she points a button near my bed) if you need anything." - The nurse responded.
"Will do!" - I said. The nurse left the room.
