Interesting title but their stated goals are focusing on GC only (no @nogc or betterc) and ignoring it's C compatibility layer.I'm in the middle of writing a few posts for this thread, but may as well mention this before anything interesting happens:

The D language is now forked, apparently due to stagnation in the leadership. Walter Bright, the creator of the D language, has yet to comment, but it's almost certain to be interesting when he does.
BetterC is one of the only remaining good and unique features of D. It was popular for a time in OSDev circles. Mainly because you didn't have to torture yourself with header files.Interesting title but their stated goals are focusing on GC only (no @nogc or betterc) and ignoring it's C compatibility layer.
Seems like a stupid plan. I think they're just trying to pretend that C# hasn't eaten their lunch multiple times over.
Also someone in the thread has a Brandon Wurtz avatar lol.
Hey, this thread's almost one year old, with just one more week to go. Anyway, while I continue to procrastinate on certain posts I've wanted to make here, I noticed that article in The Independent about Tomlinson is on the front page:

There's nothing particularly interesting in it right now, just the usual bitching about the police, but it's worth monitoring.
I found something. Look at this fucking Reddit-tier interaction. It made me mad when I first read it:There's nothing particularly interesting in it right now, just the usual bitching about the police, but it's worth monitoring.
There needs to be an easily-linkable resource on how Wikipedia is inaccurate so tards like this think twice about appealing to Wikipedia's authority.I found something. Look at this fucking Reddit-tier interaction. It made me mad when I first read it:

Oh, you know better than the government? You better update the Wikipedia page then!
Fuck this guy. Fuck LeafItAlone.
I've sometimes thought about making a Wikipedia wrapper site that would display the content but let users provide community notes that would display. Then I realized I already have too many half finished projects. There needs to be an easily-linkable resource on how Wikipedia is inaccurate so tards like this think twice about appealing to Wikipedia's authority.
That comment section is a goldmine. The children of autists living in Commiefornia despite the cost of living being so high that every other state is better for child rearing. An article on disappearing cousins melts down into an HN turbo-autistfest on owning houses and having kids, that basically boils down to "NO U!", "MUH SENSUS DATA!", jealousposting about people who own houses, and a whole bunch of zoomer doomposting about how life is fucked so why try at anything.

If only those stupid authors could've understood Google's pure intentions. Many times I saw Google criticised for actions that were sincerely intended to be good for society. Google Books, for example.
Yes, Google breaking the most popular websites in the world, which it owns, in every WWW browser, except for its own, is just an example of a funny little coincidence.Much of the criticism Google received around Chrome and Search, especially around supposed conflicts of interest with Ads, was way off base (it's surprising how often coincidences and mistakes can appear malicious).
I bet this faggot argues that Google values privacy, because it doesn't sell user data, only controlled access to it.I often saw privacy advocates argue against Google proposals in ways that were net harmful to users.
Making the WWW so fucking complicated only Google can implement a WWW browser is certainly in Google's interest. For my first nine years at Google I worked on HTML and related standards. My mandate was to do the best thing for the web, as whatever was good for the web would be good for Google (I was explicitly told to ignore Google's interests).
I looked it up and, unsurprisingly, Jeanine is a negress:Much of these problems with Google today stem from a lack of visionary leadership from Sundar Pichai, and his clear lack of interest in maintaining the cultural norms of early Google. A symptom of this is the spreading contingent of inept middle management. Take Jeanine Banks, for example, who manages the department that somewhat arbitrarily contains (among other things) Flutter, Dart, Go, and Firebase. Her department nominally has a strategy, but I couldn't leak it if I wanted to; I literally could never figure out what any part of it meant, even after years of hearing her describe it. Her understanding of what her teams are doing is minimal at best; she frequently makes requests that are completely incoherent and inapplicable. She treats engineers as commodities in a way that is dehumanising, reassigning people against their will in ways that have no relationship to their skill set. She is completely unable to receive constructive feedback (as in, she literally doesn't even acknowledge it). I hear other teams (who have leaders more politically savvy than I) have learned how to "handle" her to keep her off their backs, feeding her just the right information at the right time.
Ian Hixie's a pretty big name when it comes to web standards, he's not some random webshit. It sounds like the only thing he's done wrong is he's perhaps been a little naive. Now's about as good a time as any to finally make this message about Google. Firstly, a Google employee waxes poetic about Google:

Here's the most important quote:On February 15th, newly-created Fediverse accounts started posting spam messages from various instances, sending invites to a Discord server for a Japanese troll organization. This spam was widespread across the Fediverse. The posts frame ap12 from “KuronekoServer” as the culprit behind the operation.
I bet these fuckers killed Byuu. The Threat Actors
荒らし共栄圏 (ctkpaarr) is a CCP-themed Japanese troll group mainly made up of middle schoolers. They are most active on Discord. Their primary activities include raiding/nuking Discord servers and targeted harassment. The group is a splinter cell from another group, CTKP.
Several of their members have already been doxxed, and there are circulating claims that some were expelled from school for their antics.
Takeaways
The Fediverse can easily be overwhelmed using simple scripts.
So much for the proclamations about how the Fediverse is totally more stable and reliable after Musk took over X.This is also funny:

They're talking about criminal liability. In the US, child porn has a fairly strict legal definition. A lot of what people think is child porn isn't, but it may be covered under a different statute (e.g. obscene representations of minors) or nothing at all.CSEM is a new one. I get the impression these acronyms are meant to cause confusion and fatigue more than anything. Just call it child porn for fuck's sake.
Ycombinator with its faults is way saner than Mastodon cesspool. So much for the proclamations about how the Fediverse is totally more stable and reliable after Musk took over X.
Never read the futurism/venture capital/startup/corporate bullshit, even though I saw a lot of bullshit headlines like alternative meat, mushroom based-carton, exaggerated climate threats. It was enough to enter the comments. Worse they quote fucking CNN and other establishment media.
