Yeah there’s no barnacle lifting for some reason.

Makes sense, I can imagine players freaking if all of a sudden they started rising up off the ground cuz of a barnacle, killing it, and then dropping back to the ground.

Could cause people to lose their balance, flail around and hit something, or get sick from the involuntary movement.

OK. The game looks good enough (I like how Alyx counts ammo like in JP:Tresspasser and all the props you can properly fondle with your hands are cool) but I have no idea what the fuck they were thinking when they replaced Alyx's VA.

Totally immersion wrecking. The last thing you want in VR. This just isn't Alyx.

It's kind of a meltdown but I get what he's saying. Half Life Alyx is no longer the one really pushing the boundaries anymore.
The levels were all designed with teleportation not locomotion in mind so you'll never get the crazy level of mindbending shit you saw in Boneworks.

Looks like they ditched the old Manhack AI, now they just kinda beeline towards you. That's kinda depressing, these things were pure panic mode on higher levels in HL2

That's too bad. They were brutal in large groups in a relatively open area. I remember where they show up in huge numbers and utterly decimate the bunch of NPCs accompanying you. They could also cope with narrow tunnels, though.

My favorite thing about them was grabbing them with the gravity gun and throwing them at other enemies (including other hacks).
