I like the idea of doing what the Beta was supposed to do and have the Borealis be the prologue. We're really, really, gonna need a way to get people up to speed with the game. I think Dark Interval had a good idea with dream sequences

Yeah Im sure theyre in the works, Im in no way familiar with Source Movie maker but that shit has to be labor intensive, for what I imagine is a one man project. Maybe with the renewed interest HL3 will bring theyll hire on some outside contractors for supplemental projects
I like combining (heh) the Combine units from 2/Alyx with the potential synths and units from the Beta to form a somewhat coherent picture of the Combine military workforce. Pretty cool to be honest.

Yet he sometimes seems to need humans for various purposes. He doesn't appear to be (currently) hostile to the "good guys" our protagonists are, but he was present at Black Mesa during the Resonance Cascade. Did that come as much of a surprise to him as the rest of the world or did he actually personally set it up?

they do it because they're very sick of Current Year and moderate amounts of diversity makes them feel physical pain, sort of like a tumblr nigger does when they see a game set in medieval europe that doesn't have wheelchair-bound latinx trans bodies of color (but actually mostly justified unlike the tumblr nigger. go fuck yourselves wokelets you started this bullshit)
Just an off topic note here I find one of the strangest bits of Half Life Lore is that the Vortigaunts are able to summon enough power together to both rescue Gordon and Alyx at the end of the game. And in Episode 2 completely stop G n from interfering. I just feel they've kinda been used as a get out of jail free card at this point
I never really had an issue with it since they were balanced out by being glass cannons and easily captured and killed by the combine as seen in hl2, they always seemed more like mages where they use their magic/electricity as a crutch rather than being physically powerful themselves. From some of the dialogue in the games, it seems the combine and vorts also knew of each other before the invasion like them knowing of the advisors. (could be due to vorts just being omnipotent and mindreading combine computers for info or whatever but the former idea is cooler).
