Wtf Alyx was never even "male gaze" pretty, she was just a strong personality who was hot and physically fit and (I don't know if you remember the level of NPC companions at the time HL2 was released) actually useful, instead of some useless idiot you had to stop from randomly committing suicide by jumping off from shit.

She was hot because she was intelligent and resourceful, not because she was some supermodel.

But yeah let's totally uglify this one too.

You can't hate these people enough.

idk, just seems to be concept art and not a direct attempt uglifcation, any ugliness seems to be from her being older in the concept art due to time travel nonsense. She'll probably look closer to the 20th anniversary artwork for HL2 on the website or some of the HL Alyx artwork. The post seems to note that the artwork is similar to Claire Hummel who worked on Alyx but I haven't looked yet to check if its accurate to her style.

Given how we see Gordon and Alyx aged drastically, it could be possible that there are some time travel or alternative timeline crap going on and we meet other Gordons and Alyx-es?

Even if Ep 3 takes place 20 years later (because I guess Valve think it would be clever to adknowledge how long its been since?), it wouldnt explain the white hair/beard Gordon and granny Alyx.

It could also be possible we meet a different Alyx once we free her and not "our" Alyx yet. Maybe they possibly switched placed and "our" Alyx is with the Gordon The White?

It concerns me but at the same time I do want to hear whats the explanation for it. Assuming any of this is real at all.

Call me crazy, but I would prefer it if they took some notes from Bioshock Infinite and its version of old Elizabeth. That was probably one of my favorite sequences from that game if for no other reason than sheer spectacle. It would be nice to see a similar sequence done in a story that (hopefully) makes sense. Maybe we meet Old Gordon/Alyx and have some discussion near the end, maybe even sending you back with information for the hopeful past from the broken future.

While I want Valve to acknowledge just how long its been I don't want to know how that would mess up the integrity of the story when I look back at it in 5 years. Although, with how HL has always had a meta element to its story maybe it could work.

If they do a time skip, well, I don't see how Eli or Kleiner is going to be alive, and I would REALLY like to hear what he has to say to us.

Grandpa Barney would kind of cool though.

I might have jumped the gun a bit if it really is just an aging thing. It does look like an older Alyx. I still don't like its look but maybe at least there's a non-woke explanation.

also it's supposedly concept art so it's probably going to look a bit different from the actual final thing
 
I'm not buying into Half Life 3 hype. I will believe it when I see it, for now Valve is still content to scam little kids and gambling addicts with their skinner box simulator in Counter Strike 2 and gobbling up all the money in the PC market by running a near monopoly with Steam. They don't need to make Half Life 3 unless they're about to go bankrupt or when they need a new killer app for their new toy, like they did with Alyx for VR.

I always wondered if anyone even played CS2 because I never did. I always had it because I bought the Orange Box just to get all the textures all the shit in Gmod used and to get rid of those shitty checkerbox error textures.
