if toyear is truly the year then I will cease seething at valve for precisely one (1) day

It changes daily. I've scrolled all the way back to 2024 and see daily changes.

The 3rd reply after the trailer is that stonetoss comic and the thread just devolves rapidly.
Just reply with this to them.
Ironically, you could use HL2's world as an anti-woke warning against mass immgration and urbanization. The Combine (the one world government) forces everyone into dirty, densely-packed, mutli-racial, oppressive cities to keep the humans feeling alone and disorganized to discourage a mass revolt against the ruling government.

Even if it is Half Life 3, at this point who cares? Does Valve even have the chops to make a game like this anymore? Will it even bridge Half Life 2 or will it lean into the multiple universe aspect of Alyx and ruin whatever tensions the series had? It certainly won't meet fan expectations no matter how good it is, you can't please people after being this long in development. They should have just went with the whole ice freezing gimmick in Borealis and it would be fine, but then again we supposedly wouldn't have Left 4 Dead 2 if that happened so whatever.

If HL3 is announced, what I am really interested in is not going to be the gameplay or the story, but the tech. Half Life games were always tech demos, for better or for worse, and if Valve are finally ready to strut the big one out, that must mean they have a few parlor tricks they will be showing off too.

Wow that link is schizophrenic. :story:
If you mean it put you into the schizophrenic meme area after clicking, click and drag over to the upper right. You'll find all the actual datamines and timelines there.

I'm over it. If it doesn't release this year, are you still going to obsess over it in ten years? Take a lesson from Duke Nukem Forever, sometimes dead is better.
Like I said, the only reason Valve is releasing anything is if they have some fancy tech they want to show off. Even if Half Life 3 gets made it will be a glorified tech demo. Kind of anti-climactic, huh?

But that's what you yourself said Half-Life has always been one post ago. What's the problem? If it's a damn good tech demo I literally don't care.
There is no problem, I said that I won't be losing any sleep if we don't get a trailer this year and you tried going on some sperg tanget there. If they parade Gordon around one more time to show off some new gimmick they've developed, fine everybody wins. If they don't, good, at least they can't ruin the series and people can speculate what the game is going to be like for another 10+ years. We already have a canon Half Life 3, it's called "Hunt Down The Freeman" and you will just have to deal with it one of these days.
