No, seriously. TGA is stupid shit for people who like to watch ads and people faff about.
Valve does not need that at all. Gabe could literally walk into a mcdonalds somewhere and yell "HALF LIFE 3 SOON" and it would have more cultural impact than the game awards ever will have.

Valve has never announced anything via the TGA, as much as that faggot Geoff wants it to be different. He is desperate to have some kind of deeper connection other than giving them awards and getting access to write his "interactive" journalist applications on Alyx or whatever.
 
We didn't get Half-Life but we did get a very impressive new breed of shooter.

I literally said this pages ago but Alyx's reveal was by Valve themselves in a random day at November. Being hopeful for it being in the TGAs was a big mistake to begin with.
 
Why was the h/cope higher this year as opposed to last year given the Schreier tweet and several people saying "no it won't be TGA" for this year? Reverse psychology?

another day, another lack of announcement, and a few injections of hopium into my OD'ing soul.
did i expect it to be at the TGA? no
did i enjoy TGA this year? god no
did i waste 4 hours of my time getting drunk with friends to watch? kinda i guess
am i still disappointed? yeah
did i get my hopes up unrealistically? yeah
oh well, back to delusions, coping. and curling up telling myself "any day now hl3 will happen" and "at least there's mods for the games". my next best guess is still when they announce the prices for the new hardware.
