Halo

I never really played the series a lot but I will always have a deep love for the Multiplayer of the first game, especially the PC version. Dat 3 headshot pistol though.

Although i do love 2 for its campaign but 3 definitely had the better multiplayer over all.

Reach was okay but i feel like the campaign was lacking in some areas.

I have heard news there is an online Halo game in the works but after googling it to give a link, there might be a problem with it since Microsoft enters the fray.

I started out with 2 and loved it. Got 3 on the day of release and loved it even more. I played through 1 a few years later and also loved it.

The original 3 Halo games I felt were the best in the series.

The other games were okay, ODST was fun, but it was a little short and there really wasn't that big of a difference in gameplay from the other games.

Wars was fun for a while, but I couldn't really get into the multiplayer.

Reach was the last game I played, and as fun as it was, it just didn't seem to have that same spark the original 3 had.

Haven't played 4 or 5 and I don't really plan to.

I have good memories of playing Halo 3 online with my brother. We would always play Fat Kid, which was an Infection match where the starting zombie is slow but has so many shields that he/she's almost invincible and is armed with a gravity hammer that kills in one hit since nobody has shields. They always involved some sort of maze map. We also had an Infection match called Ice Cream Man where the starting zombie has to run over everyone else with a Warthog in a map that looked like a neighborhood.

Halo 3 was the best in the series IMO.

Best ones for me were ODST and Reach.
I really love the emotional cutscenes from both, you can feel the characters emotions by their body language.
ODST and Reach were really amazing. I loved the campaign for ODST, it was the best in my opinion. Wandering around a ruined city in the dark as a lone ODST, trying to piece together what happened. Really something. Plus dat live action trailer:
Wish I could play some Halo again.

I enjoyed the crap out of the halo series. Halo 2 was favorite to play, didn't stop playing it for a long time. ODST's campaign show signs of greatness, but it never reached it full potential. Halo 1 was just plain kick ass. and Halo 3 is my least favorite do to my terrible online experience. i never got into reach and 4. i doubt i'll be picking up Halo 5 anytime soon.

I've played them in order up until Reach.

I've liked all of the games. Although if I'd have to rank them I'd say I enjoyed Combat Evolved the most and 3 the least.

I wouldn't say they're among my favourite series of first person shooters. I preferred Marathon (The FPS series they made prior to Halo on Mac) and even then Marathon isn't even in my top 10 favourite fps series.

How the hell did I miss this thread for two years?

Also in addition to being able to very easily set up Halo Combat Evolved/Custom Edition and Halo 2 Vista to play online on a PC, some redditfag hacked a copy of Halo Online which was originally set up in Russia and was cancelled by Microshaft for being pay to win shit that didn't have enough people paying to win, and apparently people still play that in its current ElDewrito incarnation. I'm torrenting it atm so I have yet to see if it retained any pay to win crap, though I would hope it's free of that as a community build.

I really liked the first and second games. It felt like it was losing steam by the 3rd one. I picked up one of the new ones at the office at work (I forget which one it was specifically but it's on XBox One and you always play as a part of a 4-man team) and played it for like 10 minutes and put it down because it was completely unfun.

5 is hot garbage. Play ODST instead
